UPDATED: APR 1, 2017 Tap at Corner Bar with commonshawn. Final Four in progress. Weird cola like appearance. Dark brown, effervescent, and very little (if any) head. Nose is a healthy dose of coffee and maybe a little dark chocolate. First thing you notice is a thin mouthfeel. Taste is mostly coffee with an almost burnt nut characteristic that likely isn?t what Flat Earth was going for. Maybe a slight chocolate roasted malt aspect that is welcomed. Lingering nuttiness reminiscent of peanut butter. Decent but mouthfeel really brings this one down. This one falls flat. commonshawn (1257) - Minnesota, USA - APR 1, 2017
Tap at corner bar with commonmac during March madness. Black and bubbly with no head. Looks like a cola. Roasty chocolate nose. Taste is confused, some porter elements but none of the body. Not recommended. Hoprider (679) - DENMARK - NOV 15, 2015
P: clear to muddy brown settles in a blackish colour w a large foamy head.
A: nutty and coffee, cola and molasses, licorice and toasty malts.
T: funny roasty bitter concoction that coats your mouth. Somewhat vinous and even a little rauch malts.
MF: is medium but it builds up in your mouth like a Pepsi from the can and makes it not very drinkable. This really has to sit in the glas for a long time to settle down. Even after an hour this rises in the mouth. Too bad.
At: coffee and light roast aftertaste, decent nose and taste but the MF is just off imho. chinchill (4993) - South Carolina, USA - JUL 18, 2015
16 oz can of this English style porter poured near black and near opaque with a good head. The roasty flavor is good but not up to the level of the very appealing aroma. Tasting does bring out some light smoke that adds to the dry finish. Suggestions of black coffee here rather than the toffee that’s apparent in the nose.

16oz can poured a medium brown with off white head. The aroma is roasted malts, hints of chocolate and plenty of coffee. The body is thinner than I expected almost a brown ale style. Also in the the are plenty of roasted malts, hints of chocolate and again plenty of coffee. In the end it is quite bitter and not what I would expect from a porter.

Poured from a bomber that I got on my 40th birthday - so it has sat for about 9 months.
Aroma - nice chocolate aroma, good stuff.
Appearance - Nice pour. Nice fluffy creamy looking head.
Taste - surprising very nice. It almost comes across as a mild black IPA.
Palate - nice chocolate after taste.
Overall - Very good. I would have this again. deyholla (11600) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - DEC 6, 2014
Sampled from the tap at the brewery. Pours a very dark brown with a creamy tab head that lasts throughout the beer. Aroma has has a nice roasted malt and dark grain combination with a hint of sweetness. Flavor has sweet dark grains up front but finish has more roasted malts and a touch of bitterness. gopherfan99 (1826) - Minnesota, USA - NOV 19, 2014
Tap (Dixie’s on Grand); pours dark brown with a beige head; aroma of coffee, roasted malts, chocolate and dark fruit; taste is roast malt and coffee with hints of dark fruit and chocolate; finish is bitter; this was a little thinner body than I expected for a porter; okay but could be better Bacterial (2999) - Twin Cities, Minnesota, USA - SEP 1, 2014
Pour at the 2014 Minnesota State Fair. Was looking forward to this but after the first sip, I suspected this was just their regular porter with a marshmallow floating on top and some gram cracker and chocolate crust on the plastic cup. A quick visit to ratebeer.com confirmed my suspicion. Its a nice porter, but I can’t help but feel let down by Flat Earth here. I’ve had some of their infused brews at Winterfest and they have been fantastic. Disappointed! Nero55 (936) - Wisconsin, USA - AUG 18, 2014
Bomber. Dark brown black with small brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, light smoke, and some grain notes. Medium body, roasted malt, chocolate, and noticeable smoke with a tangy finish. Interesting, it reminds me more of a stout.
