Five Loco starts with a raw wheat cream ale base, into which over 250 lbs of boysenberry, black cherry and blackberry are fermented in secondary, along w/ 25 lbs of Meyer lemon, key lime and tangelo. Oh, did I mention the 1.5 lbs of African kola nut? Expect a tart, fruit forward quaffer with a surprising ABV & caffeine buzz.

On draught at Flat Tail 3/2/13. Mostly wheat beer with a weak body and small hint of fruit flavor. Feel the caffeine immediately.

mcberko (18956) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - FEB 8, 2015
On tap at Apex, pours a cloudy pinkish orange with a small white head. Aroma is very light and fruity, with a mix of berries and a touch of citrus. Flavour is intensely fruity, with loads of mixed berries and some more buried citrus. Intensely fruity and pretty decently constructed. Surprisingly good.

Draft - Light tart and sweet with some citrus acidity. Cloudy gold with a decent white head. Sweet and fruity, like juice. Not much of a beer.

Tap at the brewery. A: Cloudy, dull copper. Thin off white head. N: Sweet tart, lemon, lime, artificial sweetener, and cracker. For all the components, it’s fairly basic. T: Medium body, dull carbonation, bit of alcohol heat. O: Well, it has green coffee and fruit. There’s nothing special about this one. A nice try that ends up kind of feckless.

Danyel (1609) - Colorado, USA - NOV 9, 2014
Tap at Flat Tail. Pours hazy orange with pink hues with white head. Aroma is belgiany, a touch of fruit but not much. Taste is light to medium-bodied, low carbonation, a little fruity, not too much happening.

Salmoniform (1281) - Sweet Home, Oregon, USA - NOV 9, 2014
Poured from tap to glass. Hazy orange hue with no head retention. Aroma is lemon, straw, herbal, slight ethanol. Mouthfeel is ok with a medium body and soft carbonation. Taste is dry sweet with a slight herbal ester finish. Overall this is so so.

Beardface (1517) - Eugene, Oregon, USA - NOV 2, 2013
Draft at Bier Stein a ways back, from notes. Light reddish pink pour with about an inch of bisque colored head. Fruity aroma, smells kind of like that old soda Josta. Overly carbed with sparkly fruit flavors and a hit of caffeine that immediately woke my ass up. Not awful, but not very good either.

ericdevin (988) - Eugene, Oregon, USA - APR 11, 2013
Draft at brewery. Pours a translucent reddish pink, off-white head. Aroma is black cherries, lots of dark fruit. Lively body, finish shows raspberries. Was definitely trepidatious about this, but comes off really nicely.
