UPDATED: AUG 16, 2013 From bottle purchased at Flat Tail. Black with tan head. Aroma of roasted malt and dark chocolate. Taste is toasty malt, dark chocolate, and a hint of herbs. Roasted finish. Seems like a lighter version of a porter, with much less body. Reid (2527) - Salem, Oregon, USA - FEB 23, 2013
22 oz bomber from Roths Sunnyslope Market in S.Salem
Black beer with a nice sized thick and creamy lightv tan head.
Aroma is subdued but smalls toasty, slightly lactic and smooth chocolate
Taste is again toasty, with smooth malty chocolate..finished slighly bitter/toasty
Great palate low carbonation and quite smooth.
Not a typical Schwarzbier but as the bottle says this is a Schwarzkolsch..odd but likeable 5000 (6862) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - JAN 13, 2013
Bottle:   Deep cola, moderate to large frothy sand colored head, fairly nice lacing.   Musty nose, pale roast, a touch of cow pasture.   Has a bit of cream & sugared cold coffee aspect.   Smooth on the tongue, slightly sweet, pale toasted malts, with a bit of sweetened coffee.   Moderate body and mouthfeel.   Clean finish, soft on all accounts, and thankfully no pasture on the tongue.

Dark brown pour with thin near white head. Light grassy aroma. Flavour is not as malty as most schwarzbiere, Light hop finish. Try it if you come across it. BTW what is a black kolsch? boFNjackson (4201) - Portland, Oregon, USA - NOV 11, 2012
Bottle... Poured dark brown with a think, off-white head. Noticeably a lot of roast and coffee here. Some chocolate with malt sweetness. Clean and a roasty finish. Mostly a Schwarzbier.
