Draft. This is an excellent beer. Pours deep brown with minimal head. Aroma and body are fairly good. Taste is outstanding. A toasted nut flavor with hints of sweet molasses are found in this marvelous brew. Hops are balanced very nicely and do not overwhelm. I wish I could get this at home. True to it’s name it poured a deep dark brown but it came with little to no head. Who’s pouring these beers anyway? What it lacked in appearence it made up for in spades with taste. Full flavor of almonds, walnuts and molassis. Very malty with a full and hearty finish. Too bad it’s only been rated 4 times and that I have to fly 1500 miles to get some! Sample at brewery. Dark brown, thick foamy tan head. Aroma of toasted malts and caramel. taste is smooth sweet toasted malts with some chocolate. Smooth texture, soft carbonation.

On draught at the Flanagan’s Central Station in Whitefish, Montana. Pours a clear dark brown brew with an average off-white head that quickly dissipates to a thin film and ring. Aroma of toasted caramel malt, hazelnuts, and some flowery hops. Taste is lightly carbonated, medium bodied with a nutty caramel malt flavor. The flavor is toasty and sweet with a chewy thick pasteurized dead layer of malts that adds a good malliard type of experience. Finishes tangy and medium bodied. 22. Pours an opaque ebony, nearly black. Loose tan head that takes a real shake-up during the pour to stir up. Tiny drips of lace. Mild caramel and black bread on the nose. Creamy medium body, a little on the flat side. Walnut shells, black bread, and darkened toast on the mid palate. Slightly ashy finish. Not sure if this is quite how they meant this to turn out if they’re putting "brown" on the label, but it’s pretty engaging in the neighborhood of a slightly flat foreign stout, session style, so I’ll round up a bit.
