UPDATED: DEC 2, 2015 Amber color ale. One of the better of the Flatlander’s beers. Nice hop level. Serving: Tap and Cask (back when they had cask, sadly no more) gws57 (1276) - Saint Charles, Illinois, USA - MAY 30, 2008
Had this one on draught (growler) in Aurora, Illinois, thanks Christ! This is exactly how a good APA is supposed to be. Nice, hazy light orange pour with a great sweet citrus hoppy nose, caramel fades into a nice piney hoppiness. Not too bitter, and a soft finish. I am liking this style more and more all the time. On tap, pours a darkish amber. The smell is very hoppy, with citrus and pine. The flavor is a good amount of critrusy hops with a decent caramel malt backing. Nice mouthfeel, and overall all pretty good. Walt (2449) - Austin, Texas, USA - APR 22, 2008
Pour is orangey amber with a thin off white head...smell is strong with grapefruit and pine hoppyness...taste is faintly caramel sweet up front with a nice citric flavor and resiny bitterness... hopdog (12549) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 22, 2007
On tap at the Flatlanders Brew Pub. Poured a medium amber color with a small sized off white head. Aromas of caramel, citrus and some pine. Tastes of caramel, citrus and a light grassiness.

Brownish-orange colour with a white head. Dryish with some feint caramelish malts and piney/citrus hops. Decent. Ughsmash (7508) - Pewaukee, Wisconsin, USA - APR 26, 2007
Poured a clear medium amber with faint red highlights… short head and nice lacing. Aroma picked up soft caramel with more prominent pine and grapefruit bitters.. quite sweet and enticing. Quite tasty in the flavor department.. sweet caramel and candy base with a nice transition to pine and grapefruit bitterness at the edges.. leaves sweet pine on a rather long finish. Creamy middle of the palate with moderately bitter sides.. catches up a bit on the mildly-cloying finish. Solid brew. muzzlehatch (4959) - Beloit, Wisconsin, USA - JAN 1, 2007
Draught sample at the brewpub, December 28th 2006. Medium clear amber with a bit of retained head.....grainy, lightly earthy aroma, hints of cherry-apple, bit spicy-hoppy, fairly nice and approachable....body though is bland, more than a touch of woody hops and fairly dry and bitter especially to finish without particularly much flavor upfront or in the middle, which is rather cidery and sour....low carbonation, overly strong mineralic qualities at the finish. frankenkitty (2012) - Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA - DEC 16, 2006
Draught Pours a deep whisky color (reddish-hued amber) with a subtle head that fades to skin & halo. Despite a weak nose of dishwatery hops, there is overall potential. A spicy, carbonated tingle spreads the heat from a healthy dose of hops... IBU’s won’t kill you but this is more heavily hopped than most APAs. Heat lingers. Hand Pull A large head settles slow after a soft cascade. Hops intensify... PNWs jump right into my sinuses. A creaminess complexifies the palate from my earlier draft pint. Recommended. (7/4/7/4/16)

Draught at the brewpub. Dark amber in colour. Clear. Sweet caramelly malty aroma with some pungent hops thrown in. Malty flavour with a good dose of American flavouring hops. Finishes somewhat dry. Did not really enjoy this one very much. Others do seems to like it though.
