pale clear gold beer with a large white head that slowly fades to a thin covering, aroma is sweet, malty and hoppy. Classic Pilsner taste - slightly bitter,

UPDATED: MAY 14, 2010 The ingredients include hop extract? Well, at least they are honest. That aside this is none too bad of a Pilsener. Yellow or golden w/ a large head of evenly sized medium bubbles that tends toward rockiness and leaves big gobs of lace on the side of the glass. Smells of hay and lemon with an herbal overtone. Texture is light but w/ a good bite of carbonation. Moderately earthy w/ a nice, dry, firm bitterness in the finish. I wouldnt say this ranks amongst the worlds best but there is little more you could ask for in a Pilsener.

Its a German pilsner, basic, straightforward, uncomplicated. That said, its one of my favorite beers for the price; hard to beat it. It wont challenge you, broaden your horizons, enlighten you -- but its a damn sight better than ninety percent of the pilslagners currently sold in the United States.

Bottle. Clear golden pour with a frothy white head that lasts quite well. Aroma has notes of malt, grassy hops, honey, melon and apple. Flavour is very similar to the aroma but with less sweetness and stronger notes of apple and malt. Light bodied with fairly high carbonation and a bitter finish which is slightly metallic. Certainly not the worst pilsener around but not a great one either.

UPDATED: MAR 13, 2013 Re-rate 3/5/13: Bottle sample at a tasting at the new Beer & Beyond shop. Thanks Yoav. Clear pale yellowish golden. Aroma of malt, some noble hops and a bit of graininess. Sweetish flavor with some bready malt and a decent herbal hops bitterness. Light to medium-bodied. 5/3/6/3/12=2.9

Bottle sample at a tasting. Thanks YK23. Clear pale golden-straw color with a medium white head. Aroma of cereals and a bit of hop hints. Bitter flavor with metal and some grass hints. Light-bodied. 4/2/4/2/8=2

UPDATED: NOV 30, 2009 2000 ML bottle in Germany. Yes it was huge. Bright clear color with pur white head. Aroma is hoppy and stale. Taste is bitter and gets more bitter as you drink it. As you can tell I am no pils fan. Anyway a good beer but not my style.

A Mes rate. Keg at Katzenjammer during Kook crawl.
Clean pale gold with a thin white head and plenty of lace. A little too malty for me to get excited about. Slightly sticky and metallic. Dull.

At a tasting, thanks yk23, crystal clear light straw yellow colour, smallish head, flowery nose, touch of vanila and maybe malt, some bitterness not strong but persistent, with some honey coming in making for a sourish aftertaste.

Clear yellow color with a fleeting white head. Dry pale lager peppery aromas. Dry grainy pale malt flavors with again black pepper. Not too bad.

@ a tasting, Thanks YK23, bottle swing cup, pours pale gold with a nice fluffy head, weak aroma of wheat and cereals, maltish flavors with some herbs and hops and lavender notes, quite watery, OK Pils
