Flensburger Pilsner pours to a beautiful, bright, golden color with a bright white head, and a good bit of carbonation. The clarity of this beer is really brilliant, and this might only apply to beer geeks, but it really is a thing of beauty to look at. The nose on this beer is fantastic with lots of vibrant, herbal, grassy aromatics that invite you in. The palate on this beer is fantastic as well, with really crisp pilsner malt flavor on a smooth, round, clean body. Flensburger Pilsner finishes with more crisp malt up front, then ends with a very dry, herbal hop bitterness that lingers on the tongue.
This is a flawless example of German Pils and is lager brewing at its best. Sold, clean, delicious, drinkable beer. Das Flenst is a beer you will want to drink a lot of, and I could see myself pounding this beer with impunity. Its hoppy and crisp character, make it a perfect match for a number of classic German dishes, and spicy fare as well. Personally I would not match this one with food. This is a great drinking beer. Sure beer goes great with food, but sometimes you just got to drink beer, and forget about what food goes with it. iswain1914 (19) - USA - OCT 15, 2007
The overall rating of 46 sickens me to the point that I can’t see straight. Let me guess, if it had an obscene amount of american hops, a colorful (or better yet, shiny holographic) logo, and came from Colorado or California it would be a 98. Right? Come on! Americans have recently produced some impressive beers from all styles, but NOTHING like this. Probably the second best beer in existence after Jever Pilsner. bigpapa555 (1) - - JUL 13, 2012 does not count
This is a great beer to enjoy with friends. I love the flip top. It makes it so easy to open without needing an opener.. jkbier (71) - Hamburg, GERMANY - MAR 2, 2006
Bottle. Pours with a huge white, creamy head. Amazingly clear, very pale yellow beer. The overall appeareance is simply beautiful. Aroma is floral, herbal hops, as it suits a Northern German Pils. The palate is really pleasant. The flavor sensation begins with a powerful load of finest hops, even more complex than in the aroma. Then you feel a fizzy carbonation and get hints of citrus and fresh hay, after which comes a crisp, dry malt. The finish is endless, on the bitter side, but again very pleasant. A wonderful Pilsener! ...Herbal aroma. Large, creamy head. Very hoppy, herbal, bitter taste, with a hint of grapefruit. Long, hopbitter finish. Excellent pilsener! TheAfghanWhig (3) - - JUL 22, 2012 does not count
Definitely one of the best tart pilsners from Germany. You need to get used to the aroma and palate but once you like this type of beer you enjoy every mouthful. bp15092001 (175) - - MAR 30, 2015
Pilsneren over alle pilsnere... En tysk klassiker som jo serveres i en fantastisk flaske. Mums :-) Evigil (6) - MEXICO - MAR 26, 2015 does not count
Great Pilsener, with a fantastic golden, transparent colour and a durable and consistent crown of foam that revels the good quality of the malt. The body is consistent, full and strong. Great flavour, taste and aroma. Strongly recommend it.

A great and stable, creamy head. Hoppy, om the herbal side. Long lasting bitter finish. One of the best german pilseners.
