UPDATED: OCT 14, 2005 (Bottle 33 cl) In 2004 this was a brand new beer from the brewery in Flensburg. The strongest beer Ive had from this brewery. Perhaps a little surprising this is a light bock. A dark, malty, rich doppelbock might be a more suitable choice for the season. Light amber color with a tall, full head. Very rich and alcoholic, very sweet. Obviously a lot of malt has been used here, and there might be a slight, underlying alcoholic tone. But its definitely a beer which is a quality product. Controlled bitterness. 111104

Bottled. Clear golden, minimal head. Buttery with some boiled vegtables. Sweet and medium bodied with rounded mouthfeel. Buttery malt hides tha alcohol, but does not provide much pleasure. Somewhat mellow in the mouth, low bitterness.

Tasting at Bruces pad. Thanks to Leighton. Bright clear amber beer, little white head. Light smooth palate with modest fine carbonation. Light sweet malt, touch of cream. A little caraway nuttyness. Light dried fruits. Finishes semi dry. Overall a sweet bock, but fine.

Bottle at Bruces - London. I got this one in Austria. Vintage 2011. Pours clear, deep gold with a fine, creamy white head. Sugary bread on the nose, some caramel, hints of tangerine. Medium sweet flavor, light dry bread and caramel, some semi-dry fruits, dates. Light to medium bodied with fine, creamy carbonation. Sweet finish, further bready malts, hints of caramel, semi-ripe fruits. Very drinkable. Lovely.
