Draft (from Flix Carmel). Apple, toffee malt, and straw aroma. Murky orange-brown with moderate head. Sweet apple, toffee malt, and hay flavor. Light but distinct licorice aftertaste. Licorice comes out more as it warms. Errl (2442) - Plano, Texas, USA - OCT 26, 2013
Pour is dark with thin white head...Nose is light chocolate, light fruit, spices, earth...Taste is earth, spice, chocolate powder, dry.. mmmbeer (1427) - Austin, Texas, USA - OCT 25, 2013
10 oz. tulip at the joint- served a murky lightened brown color that bestowed fine white lacing upon the vessel, aroma of darkened fruit, yeast, light malt, and dark chocolate. Hits the mouth with a light medium body, fine and mild fruit sensations dominated by raisins in the middle, finish is slightly drying. Very nice! hopscotch (11175) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - NOV 15, 2012
Draft… Clear burnt-caramel ale with a small, creamy, lightly-tanned head that quickly dissipates. The aroma is a malty swirl of milk chocolate, praline and caramel. Medium to full-bodied and mildly creamy with modest carbonation. The malty flavor leans slightly sweet, offering cocoa, toasted nuts, caramel and a delicate citrus peel facet that is barely noticeable. Finishes nutty, lightly fruity and mildly sweet. travita (5006) - Dallas, Texas, USA - NOV 13, 2012
Tap at Flix. The look is very clear, the color of watered down cola, thin off white head. The smell is spice, cola, cinnamon, veggies, and fruit. The taste is nice, good contrasts from sweet chocolate to spices, and interesting.

Caramel color. Thin head. Malty and.alcohol aroma. Mellow malt backbone with a brown sugar and wheat finish. DewBrewer (295) - Austin, Texas, USA - NOV 20, 2011
On tap at the brewery. Brown color and very clear. Not much carbonation. The aroma is malty with a bit of chocolate. The flavor is malty and just a bit sweet. The chocolate is not that obvious. Maybe the orange peel is a bit more noticeable. Not very hoppy. Overall the flavors meld together into a smooth, enjoyable beer. The alcohol is not very obvious so it goes down easy. Good beer. On tap at the brewpub.
The beer pours a clear, light brown color with a small tan head. The aroma has some nice toffee and chocolate notes to it, with a little bit of citrus mixed in.
The flavor is similar. I get some nice light cocoa notes, as well as some orange citrus and toffee. The alcohol is well hidden, with the beer tasting more like a 4-5 percent brown ale.
Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.
