Pours a deep black with a nose of bourbon, oak, cocoa caramel, and whiskey. Flavor is weak pipe tobacco and light/dark chocolate. Average mouthfeel. Not bad but should be better. Walt sucks.
Black body with lasting tan foam. Dry wood, black malt, dry chocolate aromas. Rich, smooth mouthfeel. Nice chocolate milk, dry wood, dark roast, vanilla flavors--very good. bu11zeye (13215) - Frisco (Dallas), Texas, USA - MAR 13, 2012
(Draught) Pours an opaque black body with a small brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, bourbon, chocolate, wood, and vanilla. Flavor of bourbon, cola, roasted malt, vanilla bean, wood, cocoa, and some dark fruit with a dry finish. Mora2000 (6158) - McKinney, Texas, USA - FEB 28, 2012
On tap during the 2012 RateBeer Winter Gathering.
The beer pours a pitch black color with a dark brown head. The aroma is a mix of oak and charred malt notes, with a little bit of roasted malt also mixed in.
The flavor is a little bit different. I initially get a lot of alcohol and bourbon notes, but then the oak and burnt malt notes come in. There is also a bit of chocolate in the flavor as the beer warms, but the dominant flavors are the alcohol and burnt notes.
Thick mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Sledutah (7843) - Utah, USA - FEB 27, 2012

Pours black with a medium sized tan head and some lacing
Roasted malts, dark roast coffee, rich coffee, vanilla and woody throughout. A very nice RIS.
Black pour with frothy dark tan head and lace. Aroma is burnt coffee, chocolate, and toasted malt. Flavor mirrors aroma with a good malt bitter and some hops bitter. Medium bodied with good carbonation. Pretty nice. Fratto (2845) - Arlington, Texas, USA - FEB 24, 2012
On tap at Flix. Dark pour with a thick brown head. Aroma is licorice, tons of coffee, and chocolate. Taste is bitter chocolate, alcohol, a little woody, and coffee. Great roasted chocolate finish. drowland (9080) - Georgia, USA - FEB 23, 2012
First to rate! On tap for RBWG 2012! Opaque black pour with a small tan head that fades and laces a bit. Aroma of chocolate, rich, dark roast, a bit of tannic wood, and a touch of sourness, maybe from the bourbon/wood, but maybe from the dark malts. Slightly sweet entry of chocolate with a touch of sourness that fades to big, roasty, dry finish that lingers roasty and coffee-like with a bit of lingering bourbon, but really not much.
