The appearance of this bottled beer is a small ivory head that is mostly lasting, transparent amber body, fast rising carbonation observed, and spotty lacing. The aroma is citrus hops, pine hops, fruity, floral, grass, hoppy, earthy, sweet, and caramel malt. The flavor is moderately bitter, citrus hops, fruity, some of the ABV, sweet, malt, and a semi-dry finish. The mouthfeel is lively carbonation and this beer is medium-full bodied. A very quaffable sipping beer. It has an enjoyable taste along with a bitter finish. It is a beer that I would drink again. Ronritter (875) - Blaine, Minnesota, USA - FEB 18, 2017
12oz bottle pours a deep dark orangish amber color. Aroma is sweet malts, and hops. Flavor is grapefruit and floral. Toomio (617) - Joensuu, FINLAND - DEC 26, 2016
Ei tämä ole ollenkaan niin kammottava kuin arvostelut antavat olettaa. Hyvä vaikka vähän viinainen. Skallish (20) - Georgia, USA - OCT 27, 2016
UPDATED: OCT 28, 2016 I enjoyed this DIPA and thought it was a good beer. Swamp Ape pours a cloudy, golden amber color with a healthy off-white head. It has a nice balance of taste and smell with a familiar high gravity aroma and bitter/sweet taste. The finish is hoppy, but smooth and ends with high gravity alcohol bite. Florida Beer good job! tgncc (3147) - Bellmore, New York, USA - AUG 5, 2016
At margaritaville, universal. Sure, the bad ratings for this come from the fact that this really comes across as more of a cross of a barley wine and a DIPA. The aroma lacks hops, maybe a bit of citrus, and is overly caramel. The flavor follows. The appearance is a Clear amber, white head. The finish is sweet, light citrus hops. Maybe a bit boozier than it should be. Still, I enjoyed this more than I expected.

Smells and tastes like a swamp ape. A great beer....if that is your thing. Experimental IPA barleywine gone wrong. BeerandBlues2 (14408) - Escondido, California, USA - JUL 20, 2016
Draught at the brewery. Pours clear gold with a large, creamy white head, long retention with excellent lacing. Aroma is heavy citrus and fruity hops, cracker malt and apple esters. Flavor is moderate citrus and fruity hops and bitterness, cracker and honey malt, apple esters and a dry finish. Medium-full body and medium carbonation. beerbill (3619) - Laurel, New York, USA - JUL 9, 2016
12 oz. bottle that I picked up while visiting a friend in Florida. Pours a hazy golden orange with a thin yellowish/white head that lasted through the first sip. The aroma is less hops and more malt than I was expecting with bread, oranges, and malt. The flavor is malt with some breadiness followed by oranges and grapefruit. Mild-moderate bitterness at the finish. Medium bodied. andrewje41 (4649) - Kenmore, Washington, USA - JUN 15, 2016
Draft pour pint in Margaritaville. Clear golden pour with a quick fade head. Soft and sweet malt aroma. A ton of booze comes through here, and finishes with a bit of burn as a result. I expected this to be even stronger than it is. Malty. Not too bad, but just short of a pleasant IIPA. johnnymusky (1004) - Minnesota, USA - JUN 3, 2016
Bottle from brads amigos florida trip...leans towards the malt side....ok not great.....
