3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bomber. Pours dark brown with a thin white head that retains. Aroma is caramel, smoke, wood, and bourbon. Flavor is the same with a long boozy peaty finish. Surprisingly dry for a BA scotch ale. Solid but unspectacular.
From notes. Tasted some time near the summer of 2012 from a waxed and capped 22oz bottle. Pours clear orange with a thick white head that leaves thick lace. The nose is acetone, tons of bourbon, very hot, caramel malt, and some smoke. The flavor is less of the acetone, more just hot bourbon with the same caramel and lightly smokey back end. The body is full with average, stinging carbonation and a long bitter and smoked caramel and whiskey finish. DuffMan (10284) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - FEB 3, 2014
Bottle, shared with Parksy and Grippitis. Quite a pale amber colour, closer to golden really. Scotch is prominent on the nose and the palate, but only lightly peaty (compared to Alley Kat’s scotch ale, which I recently had). This was a little boozy, but if you enjoy scotch then this should hit the mark nicely. alexsdad06 (10289) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JAN 20, 2014
22 oz bottle tried twice (DLD and thuggins). Pours a mostly clear amber colorwith a small beige head. The aroma and flavor have sweet caramel malts, vanilla, bourbon, wood, peat, moderate fruit character, with some unexpected floral notes. I thought this was boozy, even though it is a bit lower in abv than many scotch ales. DanielCoor (63) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - AUG 2, 2013
Shared thuggins. Pours a nice Amber color with white head. Has a bourbon nose whit minimal other notes. Tastes like bourbon with some slight peatinss.

Bomber to taster (thanks Thuggins). Looks solid; a mostly transparent orange with ample foamy off-white head and lively carbonation. Smells and tastes of malt, peat, and booze. Tastes like it smells with a nice, peaty but smooth mouthfeel. Good beer.

Sampled at the brewpub. More golden than red. Wood and malts in the aroma. Lots of alcohol is tasted. Wood, peat, rich malts! And some vanilla. Too hot for me but an intetesting beer. jbeatty (1247) - New York, USA - MAY 30, 2013
Bottle, pours deep caramel amber, clear with sparkling bubbles rising, fluffy white head leaves sticky lacing at it recedes. Aroma of banana, sugary caramel malts with vanilla, light bourbon finish, slight smokiness. Taste is similar with banana and fruity malts, spices, strong bourbon caramel notes, boozy finish with some smoke and heat. Medium body with high carbonation, drinks stronger than 7.5%. Alright, but not the best BA Scotch Ale I’ve tried by far. Boutip (6344) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - MAY 6, 2013
Bottle: Poured a hazy dirty amber color ale with a large foamy head with excellent retention and some good lacing. Aroma of dry scotch notes with some distinctive peat notes with very little residual sugar notes. Taste is quiet dryer then I had expected with some peat notes with light smoke and some scotch notes with light barley notes. Body is lighter then expected with super great carbonation and light warming alcohol notes. Quite different then what I was expecting with loads of attenuation and almost no residual sugar. I could see myself drinking this on a semi-periodic basis. crossovert (12670) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JAN 27, 2013
Decent ba scotch ale here, aged in bourbon which is weird, slight smokiness. Its decent. brokensail (16440) - Dublin, California, USA - JAN 7, 2013
A hazy copper pour with an off-white head. Nose is banana, sugar, bourbon, and vanilla. Fairly heavy on the peat, a bit of soap, caramel, and charred oak. The flavor has a strong sweetness of caramel, vanilla, banana, and brown sugar. Some decent bourbon flavor, charred oak, peat, and soap. Not my favorite example of the style.
