22oz bottle shared by noodleuser: Pours a barely transparent dark mahogany with a stringy-lacing light tan head. Has a sweet dark caramel bourbon and vanilla oak nose with notes of dark chocolate. Starts with good fullness and dark caramel sweetness with a touch of raisin and plum complexity along with vanilla oaky bourbon warmth in the finish. Draft at Fobab 10. Pours a deep brown, near black with a tan head. The nose is soft chocolate along with some charcoal. Strong notes of woodford coconut and vanilla back it up. On tasting, fairly robust. Good barrel presence and integration. Quite clean overall. Medium bodied. Chocolatey finish and drying charcoal as well. FOBAB. Pours very dark brown to black with a medium sized tan head that disappears quickly. The aroma and flavor have quite a bit of bourbon barrel, vanilla, caramel, brown sugar, oak, chocolate. Medium-bodied and pretty tasty; maybe just a touch too much barrel. So much to do and so little time.

A big beer. Bourbon barreled imperial schwartz says it all, as it is not a shwartz. Lots of bourbon,roast, boozy, vanilla, raisin, and sweetness. The aroma is somewhat more balanced and pleasant, perhaps a function of several months of aging. Big black body, above average mouthfeel. More of a sipper in terms of drinkability. A nice scent of sweet bourbon, roasted malts, vanilla, and oak. The flavor is malty. The bourbon has a nice taste. I also picked up on the oak with a slight vanilla taste. There is a minimal bitterness in the Schwartz. Overall the bourbon lingers and coats the mouth impacting the palate mildly. Its not a bad thing but it is noticeable. I enjoyed this drink. Dark brown, tinged ruby at the edges, nearly black in the middle. Smallish tan head faded fast. Light carbonation. Rich nose is roasty but cut by the strong burnt caramel and whiskey aromatics. Flavor is similar, a potent alcohol presence gives it a burning kick, mild roast, lots of chocolate, vanilla, burnt caramel, oaky bourbon. Rounded palate but the alcohol and astringency detract from what is almost an easy sipper. More than a little rough around the edges.
