COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Black Magic IPA, as the name implies, is going to have the look of a stout and the taste of a regular IPA. It will be dry-hopped with Chinook only yielding a piney, resinous, and lingering bitterness. We will update the post with the ABV when it is done fermenting. Check back to find out!

On tap at brewpub. Pours a dark brown with decent off-white to tan head. Aroma is heavy with west coast hops and beautiful citrus punch with grapefruit, orange and lemon, nice amount of roasted malt coming through as well. Flavor is roasted malt, bitter hops, nice citrus punch and some light chocolate coming through. Towards the end of glass I was picking up a bit of a metallic note. Could be epic if there were more of a hoppy flavor. Has a good body and mouthfeel. Aroma was awesome. Solid black IPA overall and best of the 3 beers I had from the station tonight.

bottle pours dark brown almost black with a medium off white head. Strong pine resin and floral aroma. Strong bitterness in this one, almost IIPA strong with a kick of alcohol in the finish.

On tap at FS. Pours black with a tan head. Lots of citrus, grapefruit, and floral hops in the nose with some of the roasted malts coming through. The hops really pop in the flavor, medium bitterness fresh citrus and grapefruit. The roast has a slight bitterness that isn’t lost or overdone. Solid IPA, its hard to drink this one slow.

Very dark brown pour with minimal tan head. Nice roasty nose. Some obvious roasted notes up-front, maybe a touch of smoke, even. Then the hop bite comes up from behind...pine and grapefruit. Medium craemy texture...very easy drinking. This should sell out quickly, now that the weather has turned a bit chilly. Very good work!

Another Flossmoor hookup from Adam, thanks again. Pours dark, dark brown in the glass with only the faintest hints of light coming through the edges with a big thick off-white head that recedes fairly slowly and leaves good lacing. The aroma is dominated by hops, some citrus in the form of oranges and pineapple, and a little bit of floral pine and grass as well. There are some sweet dark malts underneath. The taste is more floral than the aroma with an initial pine resin bitterness that gives way to the highly toasted black malts in the background with some bakers chocolate coming out as well. The finish brings back the hop and espresso-like bitterness which lingers for a while after each sip. The mouthfeel is medium bodied but almost seems a little thin with good carbonation and dry and bitter in the finish. This is a solid brew that is a little lacking in body for my liking but is pretty drinkable and offers lots of different flavors all together. Interesting and tasty.

Bottle courtesy of fishingnet. Pours a dark cola brown with thin tan head. Aroma is big bouquet of hops, citrus, grapefruit, spice, pine, malt. Flavor is much of the same--lots of floral hoppiness. Generally medium body with a floral hop finish.

thanks to fishingnet for the share. A: Pours a nice brownish black hue with a small head. Nice retention and some spotty lace. S: Aroma is like a bag full of pine needles, resinous and sappy. Hints of roast pop through as well. T: Hopped up for sure. Lots of pine with hints of citrus rind. Notes of roast can be picked up. The finish is more bitter herbal nice. M: Medium in body, nice carbonation, nice biting bitter finish. D: Good drinking tasty IPA. Win.
