22oz bomber shared by Ed. Poured a dark blackish brown with foamy super light beige head. Aroma is a bit green all around with some beans, honey sweetness, light and sweet coffee. Palate is thinner then I would like with stronger carbonation and an okay aftertaste. Flavor is coffee, ashtray, dark toast some fake creamer. Tasted on draft at Flossmoor Station’s 2011 Pre-DLD party. Pours opaque, almost black brown, with a thin tan head that recedes to nothing more than a thin collar of lace. The nose is very freshly roasted (perhaps still roasting) coffee, with an earthy aroma, and tons of dark chocolate. It tastes like fresh coffee with pleasant earthiness, dark chocolate, and a spicy note. The body is medium with lively carbonation and a long coffee and dark chocolate finish. dm9831 (1512) - Monee, Illinois, USA - SEP 23, 2011
black, small brown head, lacy. nose of coffee, chocolate, sweet malt. taste is chocolate and coffee, with roasty malts. medium bodied, dry finish. my breakfast beer. HonkeyBra (4044) - Lemont, Illinois, USA - AUG 18, 2011
Sampled at the pre-DLD party. Near black pour with a tan head. Big coffee aroma with some chocolate, tons of of roast, and a mild leafy hop presence. Flavor has a ton of strong, focused coffee. Chocolate, roast, mild toffee, and herbal hops play a supporting role. Thinnish mouthfeeel, no alcohol detectable but finishes with a ton of roast and coffee. Very good beer. Pre-DLD event: Nearly opaque with reddish highlights, small fizzy head. The aroma has notes of cold pressed coffee, chocolate, roast and bready malts, earthy yeast and herbal hops. The taste is quite coffeeish, roasty and hints of chocolate, vanilla, butterscotch and a light herbal hop note. The mouth feel is thin, dry and a bit ashy and tannic. Simply okay, expected more.

On tap at the brewery. Very unique coffee flavours come through right away and stay with a long after taste. Very excellent. phaleslu (10462) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - MAY 2, 2011
Tap at the Pre-DLD event at Flossmoor Station. Pours a dark, nearly opaque brown color with a small dark tan head. Nice coffee aroma with some underlying roasted sweet malts, burnt toast, and dark chocolate. The flavor is a lot of rich coffee and dark chocolate, some caramel and vanilla sweetness, and some ash on the finish. Medium-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a roasty mouthfeel and aftertaste. Once again, I’m not a coffee drinker, but once again I find a nice coffee stout that I can sip for a long time. Ontbeertaster (2362) - Ontario, CANADA - MAY 2, 2011
