On tap at the brewpub.
A medium honey gold pour with a white head that has good retention...The aroma is sweet and all honey comb and a nice clove on the finish...The taste is all banana, you might as well have blended up and liquified a banana and this is what you’d get. The banana is especially prevelant on the finish. The best banana in a beer I’ve had, but I’m not a huge banana fan so its a bit too much for me.
If you love, or even mildly like bananas you should run to get this beer. DrnkMcDermott (3136) - Downers Grove, Illinois, USA - NOV 1, 2010
Sampler at FSRB. A slightly hazy hefe color, with a thin head in the sampler glass. The banana nose is right up front. Taste is light and the banana carries through on the tongue, but is not overwhelming. Any spice notes a not apparent. Pretty, and a refreshing summer style beer. tmoreau (4631) - Lombard, Illinois, USA - OCT 5, 2010
Sampled at the brewpub bar, presenting a hazed, orange/gold color, modest, white head foam that quickly diminished to a ring & film, but left some curtainy lacing. The aroma was strong banana, with light clove, a little lemon tartness, and a soft hint of vanilla. The flavor was similar, with smooth malt, and low hop bitterness, in a light body. Very nice Hefe, but I was hoping for a little more effervescence. NobleSquirrel (3439) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - SEP 28, 2010
Keg donation from Bryan at our homebrew club’s Oktoberfest. I tasted this beer when it won Best of Show at the BOSS competition as the homebrewed example and it was fantastic. Anyway, On appearance, a little clearer than expected, nice glowing bronze with fluffy and sticky head. Nose is nice. Fair amount of cloves, some banana and candi sugar. Great nose. Taste is fukll and round. Lots of phenols and esters to go around, big kettle caramel note. Full body. Very good Hefe and up there with Big & Curvy or Top Heavy... holdenn (2127) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - AUG 29, 2010
On tap at the brewery. Hazed orange yellow pour with a white head. Lemony dough and citrus aroma. Similar flavors with a doughy sweet creaminess that surrounds it. Really drinkable. Solid beer. 8/3/7/3/15

When I first had this at the mug club tapping I was a bit disappointed. Either I was off that day, or the beer had improved by when I later had it, because this is a dandy hefeweizen. It pours a hazy amber body with a substantial, sustained head. The aroma is fruity with banana and a spritz of lemon, enhanced by the spiciness of clove. True, also, for the flavor. A very refreshing warm weather brew. TheAlum (7164) - Aurora, Illinois, USA - AUG 17, 2010
Mug club draft at the brewpub (Flossmoor, IL). Pours a murky dark golden amber, big frothy cakey offwhite head sits atop and stays well, laces ok. Aromas are dusty wheat bread, banana esters, a touch of pear, cloves, bready malts. A touch of honey and vanilla. Mellow and sweet. Initial is nice Hefe sweetness, big banana and wheat bread, a touch of applesauce. Light clove, honey and vanilla, more bread. The lingering banana, touch of spicy yeast and bread, some bubblegum. Finish is lightly bitter, lingering sweetness. Refreshing, heavier side of light bodied, substantial for the style and not thinned out. A tasty fresh Hefe, refreshing and palatable. Quaffable and enjoyable, goes down easy. A Hefe with some life, fresh and one of the beterAic vsions I’ve been privy to. RAYBOY01 (2010) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - AUG 12, 2010
Darker amber pour than expected (and less hazed, as well) with fluffy white head. The nose is spicy with notes of banana, clove, and wheat grass. Very robust hefe yeast flavors, grassy notes, banana and clove. Quite nicely brewed. Clean, crisp, refreshing, and repeatable.
