Amber color with a small, white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of rye, caramel, citrus fruits, floral hops, pine, toffee, and alcohol. UPDATED: JAN 25, 2011 Bottle thanks to FlssmrBrewAlum! Thank alot, this was a mothers day gift for my mom who loves rye beers. She was nice enough to give me a 4 oz. pour. She said it was a 5/5, no hesitation. Now for my take. Pours a clear caramel brown with an off-white head. Aroma is full of sweet caramel, rye and an undertone of caraway. Wax-covered bomber; thanks Alex!!! Someone hooked me up with a nice pour on DLD2010. I was very excited to try this. Ruddy reddish pour, off-white head. Aroma is earthy, with noticeable herbal hop and rye notes. Flavor is spicy, fruity, some citrus. Very nice. Smooth and a pleasure to drink. Really digging the rye in this. Great beer.

Bottle from MikeTD, thanks man. Pours an amber body with an off white head. Earthy body with a caramel and rye warming. Hints of toffee, some lightly spicy hop tones, rye and and a mild herbal finish. A nice adjunctive barely wine.

I had this twice before it was finished, once at the release (thanks to dm9831), split a bottle with my girlfriend, then enjoyed a bomber all on my lonesome. Nice pour, a reddish brown body with a short-lived tan head. The aroma had caramel & toffee, alcohol, peppery rye, fresh dough, and an earthy and herbal spiciness. It had a creamy mouthfeel, just a tad oily, with a peppery feeling left on the tongue. The flavor was rich with caramel and toffee, tempered by the alcohol, peppery rye, and a touch of citrus. Spicy rye nose, some chocolate, soft citrus hop notes and light alcohol. Pours dark auburn beige foam on top. Lots of dark spicy rye notes. Pepper, juicy citrus fruits. More spicy rye. 22. thanks, alex! pours dark mahogany with ruby edges, no head or lace after a big sudsy head falls away. big dark spicy black bread nose. tossty, roasted seed notes. sticky, compact, viscous and chewy body. dark seeds, black bread, and roasty dark spices on the mid palate. big spicy finish with notes of dark stone fruit on the finish.
