22 oz bottle. Misty brown with a lacy beige head. Nose is toffee, orange, pine and pepper. Resiny medium body with mild carb and chewy hops. Taste is pink grapefruit, peach and citrus peel. Clean and well balanced with a short bitter finish.

Nose is of grapefruit and floral PNW hops followed by some caramel and toffee, I noticed a bit of mustiness as well. Pours golden amber with great head and lace - nice retention, creamy foam. Nice looking like all their IPA’s really. Flavors of caramel, musty malt notes, toffee, medium bitter grapefruit and floral hops that linger forever like chewing on citrus rinds. Not bitter or abrasive, but that kind of flavor profile. A touch of alcohol is noticeable, body is medium, smooth drinking solid IPA.

Beerlando (3342) - Orlando, Florida, USA - APR 4, 2010
Purple wax dipped bomber. Pours a mostly clear and dark coppery-amber hue. A moderate head of cream colored froth settles in to a thin but lasting surface patch, while dense swaths of hard-clinging, bubbly sheet lace coat nearly the entire glass. The aroma is well balanced, showing an east coast toffee-biscuit malt base that is amply sweet, with a strong pacific northwest flare of pine resin and grapefruit hop character. Flavors follow suit, again sporting a biscuity, caramelly malt sweetness that is countered with bitter, resinous pine and sharp grapefruit and orange rind. The palate isn’t as substantial as I thought it might be, which isn’t all that bad, though it does get to be a bit papery on the finish. Carbonation is moderate throughout. Bitter citrus rind and piny resins linger on the finish. Solid, but not out of this world.

clear gold, smalll white head, a bit of lace. musty malt, catbox hops in the nose, plus some grapefruit and pine notes. lots of pine, somew citrus in the flavor, followed by mellow malt notes. medium bodied, bitter finish. creamy mouthfeel, trace of caramel. very enjoyable, but a touch too musty to be a favorite. all that being said, this s#!t is pretty good (that’s what my notes say...). on tap at flossmoor station brewpub.

22oz. purple wax bomber, with another big thanks to FlssmrBrewAlum. Pours a mostly clear golden orange with a minimal white head. Aroma is a nice blend of pine, grass, citrus, a little grapefruit and orange rind and light caramel. Flavor is pine, earthy grass, citrus, grapefruit and some gentle caramel. Nice one, thanks Adam!

UPDATED: APR 1, 2010 650 ml bottle courtesy of Honkeybra. Pours a hazy copper color with a small white head that soon recedes to a fine film. The aroma is a big blast of citrus-- mostly grapefruit, oranges and lemons--also a bit o pine on the nose. The flavor is biter hops forward with very smooth citrus, walnuts, resins and caramel. The palate is silky smooth and full with lively carbonation. The finish is medium in duration with lingering biter hops. Overall: This is one of the smoothest IPA’s that I can remember in a long time. Off the hook awesome!

Bomber my brother picked up for me at brewpub. Pours slightly hazed golden copper with small white head. Aromas of grapefruit, tropical fruits, hops, and some caramel malts. Flavors of grapefruit, tropical fruits, bitter hops, caramel and malt. Finishes with lingering bitterness, but there is no hop burst in the initial taste. Based on the ratings this probably pretty hop when first on tap, but the hops may have faded some after bottled. Still a pretty solid IPA overall. Just wish it was a little hoppier.

22oz bottle. I don’t think the newer fs ipa bottles are showing as well in the bottle as they are on draft, I haven’t had a lot of them on draft but this and fudob scored very well on draft and so I picked up bottles and they aren’t that good esp at $10/bottle. So this is my last fs ipa bottle for a while. It poured a slightly hazed golden with white head. Nose has earthy hop resin, slight perfume, and honeydew. flavors are sweet orange and tangerine, grapefruit rind, and a dry honeydew finish. Thin body. So it’s a nice balanced ipa with good hop flavor (not explosive) and a pretty weak nose. I’ll try and enjoy fs beers on tap from now on.
