[A] Earthy, citrus hops. Dirty smell. [A] Clear amber, on the darker side. Decent whitish head. [F] There is a dirty earthy taste. A sugary presence. Lot of caramel. Tastes of darker malt. [P] Medium bodied. Tingles the palate. Hop bitter is satisfying. [O] A good IPA. Par for the course.
Rated on 4-01-2010 at Flossmoor. This draft beer forms a small tan head with a lengthy retention, transparent orange body, minimal visible carbonation, and an abundant amount of lacing. The aroma is caramel malt and floral and earthy hops. The taste mimics the aromas. The palate is smooth and this IPA is medium bodied. Overall, this beer for the style is not overly hoppy, very quaffable, worth trying, and is my favorite of the beers that I rated today at Flossmoor. Bottle 65 cl. Courtesy of Storm. Pours an almost clear dark amber with a small off-white head. Sweet burned dark caramel in the nose, somewhat oxidized. Medium-bodied, caramel, very delicious lightly overripe fruit, again somewhat oxidized - but in a good way. Fairly hoppy finish, but not citrusy fresh and crisp. Comes more like a mini Barley Wine. 191111 jrob21 (3889) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - MAY 21, 2011
Bottle out of a ridiculous box from a recent Michigan trade. Hops are a little dead seeming here at this point but you are left with a resiny slight pine element. Lots of syrupy sweetness working here. Dark orange pour. Peppery spice aroma. A little sticky chewy sugar sweet on the finish. sneagrams3 (2337) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - JUL 2, 2010
The Dan Journal #365. Tasted 6/28/10. 22oz bomber. Burgundy wax. Filtered with a reddish amber hue. Soapy hoppy heady aromas. Trace berries in the nose. Medium bodied and mild. Well blended, but it lost its edge. Trace hops. Decent stuff. thedm (6319) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - JUN 24, 2010
This draft brew from the brewery poured a small sized head of foamy with a frothy top fine to medium sized tan colored bubbles that were and left behind a uncarbonated transparent copper colored body and an excellent lacing. The mild aroma was hoppy and floral. The mildly vinous mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish with a mellow hoppy aftertaste. The flavor contained notes of crystal malt and hops. Delicious and one I would certainly buy again.

22oz from West Lakeview Liquors. It’s been a while since I’ve had a bottle that so closely approximates the cask experience. Deep burnished amber look to the beer, with a fine silky head to it. Very soft sweet nose like an ESB or something, with a bit of mostly floral hops and hints of bitterness. Yummy smooth mouthfeel confirms the impression of hefty cask goodness. Taste is earthy, a bit of grit to it, like a faded English style with layers of sweet malts emerging over time. Unexpected but I dug it. mreusch (858) - Olathe, Kansas, USA - MAY 18, 2010
22oz. burgundy wax bomber. Pours a mostly clear burgundy (heh) with a large off-white head that lingers. Aroma is earthy and spicy, with lesser notes of citrus peel and candied sugar. Flavor is more mild, but still delivers a nice blend of earthy and spicy hops, citrus and a touch of brown sugar sweetness. Very easy drinking and tasty stuff. Bottle thanks to FlssmrBrewAlum. Pours a dark orange brown with a small white head. Aroma of citrus, caramel malt. Flavor of citrus and sweet fruits (also some sweet candy-like notes in there) with sweet malt. Not my favorite Flossmoor Station IPA (a little on the sweet side, less hoppy) but still an enjoyable beer.

Courtesy of Laurent Mousson. Very dark to my surprise. Impressive hop presence in the nose. Crystal malt reminiscence. Very good! Bov (13354) - Bienne, SWITZERLAND - MAY 16, 2010
courtesy of Laurent Mousson - hazy dark amber colour with a chaotic foam left; very fresh hoppy aroma, grapefruit, oranges and citrus; juicy palate and medium malt backbone; a fair but not aggressive bitterness; aftertaste of crystal malts and grapefruity hops - beautiful
