Draft at the Station. Great aroma and great color. Nice sweet floral hop taste but a bit harsh on the back end. railcat1 (702) - Kissimmee, Florida, USA - MAY 1, 2008

Pours orange to gold and is cloudy. Smell is big and fragrant. Nice tropical fruit and peach like fresh aroma. Taste is equally as nice and hoppy with strong bittering hops to balance as well. Very good and flavorful. Probably the best beer on the sampler, and one I look forward to trying again bottled. Skyview (6093) - Papoose Jct, Minnesota, USA - APR 29, 2008
Guest beer, cask drawn at Dark Lord Days 2008. Pours a hazy orange amber brew with a thick and creamy off-white head that has some good retention and sticky lacing. Aroma of strong grapefruit and orange citrus zest that over-powers any caramel or multi-grain malt. Taste is medium to full bodied, very little carbonation if any with more heavy sweet grapefruit some papaya and caramel malt. Finish continues the grapefruit aftertaste with a nice sweet bitterness that long lasts after the finish. crizay (1050) - Brook Park, Ohio, USA - APR 29, 2008
Growler fill from the Flossmoor gathering. Hazy deep orange pour with a big thick white head that stays big the whole time and leaves lots of lacing. Aroma is just fresh with orange, grapefruit, melon and leafy freshness. Taste is melon, grapefruit, orange with a touch of pine and bitterness in the finish. A very subtle touch of caramel to balance it out with a very thick and full bodied mouthfeel and a spot on carbonation level. This is an IIPA at it’s finest with straight up hop juice and pretty much all base grains with a touch of caramel to balance it and give a touch of sweetness but give hardly any flavor allowing the hops to shine and it’s so freakin thick it’s like having a meal. I’m so glad I got a growler and will drink this all to myself.

On tap at the brewery on my last visit home for a job interview. Poured a hazy amber with a creamy offwhite head. A prominent citrus hoppy nose that is extremely pleasant. Initial tastes of pine and grapefruit citrus that is balanced by a fairly large malt presence. Finishes bitter and yummy. A great beer that I just HAD to pick up the bomber from the initial release of upon finish. masonjer (609) - Holt, Michigan, USA - APR 29, 2008
Had this on tap at Flossmoor. Great big citrus nose, big grapefruit. Taste is grapefruit as well, with just enough balancing malt sweetness to not overpower, nice bitter finish. Very enjoyable and well done. ogglethorp (917) - Ohio, USA - APR 29, 2008
On tap at Flossmoor. Pours is hazy amber color with a decent off white head. Aoma is grapefruit, orange, pineapple, mango, caramel. Flavor is grapefruit, mango, pine, caramel. 12 oz. Tap at Pre-DLD. Just rating from memory while my tortured brain cells are still intact on this event. I have the luxury of being able to stop in later this week and get more impressions. So for now: Brassy amber color, some haze, under a comforting pillow of foam. Gorgeous smell of big earthy hop backed by a sock in the nose of citrus. Taste gets a few more specifics in the form of pinecones and orange zest. One day I’ll sample the FS big IPAs side-by-side so I can see if I can pick out any difference instead of always saying "This one’s better than the last." couchand (182) - Iowa City, Iowa, USA - APR 27, 2008
Hazy golden straw, some creamy white head.
Delicate, clean, floral with some herbal hoppy aroma. Light sweetness as well.
Light bitterness and strong herbal hoppy flavor. Some citrus.
Thick but still playful palate.
