Tap at GABF. Pours black with medium tan head that lasts. The aroma is wood, roast, brownie, bourbon. Medium body, chocolate, roast, light dry finish, good.

Bottle... Pours hazy and dark brown with a tiny, creamy, off-white head. The aroma mainly consists of bourbon and milk chocolate - in that chronological and descending sequence. Medium-bodied with tickling carbonation. Roasty, bourbony flavor - acrid and carbonic with a mild measure of alcohol warmth. Nutty, minerally, lightly warming finish. Bottle courtesy of landhoney!

Boozy. First impression. Boozy. Brown pour. Brown sugar, maple and whiskey. Meh. Average at best. Had this on tap as part of a flight at their brewpub in Tinley Park.

Lubiere (13900) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - APR 25, 2015
A deep dark porter with a very thin dark brown head. In aroma, weird mix of bourbon barrel and rotten fruits, wood chips, musty character, interesting but unpleasant. In mouth, a rather bitter chocolate with coffee grind, woody notes, licorice, alcohol warmth, fusel alcohol, unbalanced and cloying, iodine notes. On tap at brewery.

Un tourbillon bourbonné qui laisse échappe des notes de chocolat, vanille et caramel brûlé.

Bottle. Nose is a vanilla and coconut rich booze with some molasses and light chocolate. Dark brown color with a very small khaki head. Taste is a boozy chocolate like a brownie. Medium mouthfeel. This is really tasty. Like a barrel aged session beer.

rumproasts (5359) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - DEC 2, 2014
Tap at brewery. Strong bourbon aroma. Rich chocolate malt with medium bourbon. Well melded flavors. A sipper, but very tasty.

wchesser (2073) - Denver, Colorado, USA - OCT 16, 2014
GABF 2014. Dark brown with watery edges. Here we go. Hot bourbon fumes, some chocolate malts. Thin, and hot with un-integrated bourbon. Hot mess.

Ferris (15267) - Burnaby, British Columbia, CANADA - SEP 20, 2014
Draft - Lots of boozy bourbon. Jet black with a rich brown head. Boozy bourbon overwhelms everything. Another unbalanced barrel aged beer. Bourbon isn’t harsh and has a dry finish.
