Pre DLD event: Clean golden hue with a fizzy head. The aroma has notes of heavy yeast phenolic vapours and spice (tangerine, cardamom, banana and clove) along with bready malts and some very light medicinal bretty and horsey notes. The taste is quite spicy and yeasty to the point it became just too much of those characteristics and not enough of an wild ale. Fruity throughout but alas too sweet as well. The mouth feel is simply okay, needed more carbonation. Blah, just did not do much for me. HonkeyBra (4044) - Lemont, Illinois, USA - MAY 27, 2011

Tap at the Pre-DLD event at Flossmoor Station. Pours a bright but cloudy orange-golden color with a small white head. Nice funky start to the aroma, followed by a ton of fruit- orange citrus, berries, peaches, apricots- with floral hops and peppery notes. The fruits really pop in the flavor as well, along with pepper, coriander, bretty funk, and dry grains. Light-medium bodied, with a dry, funky, fruity mouthfeel and soft carbonation. Really nice. Now I’m excited to try the Saison & Garfunkel bottle I bought at the event. TheAlum (7164) - Aurora, Illinois, USA - MAY 1, 2011
Draft on tap at Black Friday Event (Flossmoor, IL). Pours a good darker golden glow, some good haze, darker and rich gold with a moderate bright white head atop, films and laces pretty well, stays as a good film. Aromas are grainy malts, bread, touches of fruity esters, orange rind, green pepper and faint coriander. Touches of spicy yeast are gentle, some touches of dry funk, hay, faint cheese. Initial is fruity up front, medium bodied with pear, bananas, apples, bigger orange rind, some green coriander, green peppercorns mellow on the tounge. Mellow brett with dry funk, grass, faint cheese. Touches of dry hops, light brett, refreshing fruity qualities. Nothing overbearing. Light like the base, with just a gentle bretty kiss that gets stronger, more dried out as it warms. Nice. Gives the base some more complexity.
