Color was frosted-golden wheat with a small, white head leaving some good lace trails. Indiscernibly weak aroma. Light bitterness to start with a short, lightly acidic and dry finish. Very tame. Nothing special.

Enjoyable wheat that could use some fine tuning. More prominent hop signature, for one, but I say that about Alpha Khan, too!

Sample at the brewpub. Bananas and berries in the pleasantly sweet aroma with rich caramel hints...body is light clearish amber with some lasting foam...alas on the tongue blandness ensues with the merest hints of bananas and lime, and a dry somewhat cottony finish. Not bad, really, but so what?

Cornfield (5569) - Oak Forest, Illinois, USA - NOV 22, 2004
UPDATED: JUL 5, 2005 This pours an amber color with a frothy white head. The aroma is fairly delicate, grassy with a few spices. Very soft in the mouth. Not a bad wheat flavor, but not very assertive in any direction. Clean & crisp finish.

Soft, hazy gold. Somewhat frothy, thin, white head. Aroma is fruity & slightly malty w/ a mild spiciness. Feel is thin & grainy. Light wheat flavour w/ mild spiciness. Front is a little bland but the finish is crisp & dry.

Your average old American wheat but it does have some Hefeweizen characteristics, but not enough to garner a high score. Got some citrus and wheat, but no yeast or banana. Moderate spices (mostly clove) towards the end. The mouthfeel was weak and watery. Hum...boring.

Definitely an American Wheat - possesses a hint of hops but otherwise not all that flavorful. Not too yeasty, but that's to be expected. Clear.

CaptainCougar (7634) - Columbia, Maryland, USA - NOV 30, 2003
Pale yellow color with a lacey head. Aroma is very faint with only a slight hint of wheat. Body is much the same with a light sweetness throughout. Dull, but drinkable.

DrnkMcDermott (3137) - Downers Grove, Illinois, USA - SEP 23, 2003
Draft, on premises. Not a real standout wheat. Color is dark amber to orange, with no haze, under a very thin head. There's a very slight coriander nose. It's a little dry, with a slight fizzy tartness on the lips. Not much hop presence, just a counterbalance to the maltiness and a bit of an aftertaste. Fills the role of a great brewpub's regular tap beer.

2.2
Volgon (2761) - Manchester, New Hampshire, USA - JUL 6, 2003
On tap at the brewpub: Clear orange color, light malt aroma. Weak mouthfeel ends sour. Yet another boring American wheat beer.
