pours a pale copper color with a medium sized wispy near white head which leaves pillows of lace all over the glass.
intensely fresh citrusy aroma... lots of grapefruit peel and flesh, orange peel, leafy green hops, flowers and a small amount of malty sweetness.
the palate is incredibly hoppy and dry but in no way bitey... flavors of grapefruit pith, rosemary-esque pine qualities, various citrus, earthy sweetness from the grains, flowers and a spicy kick before a dry mildly bitter finish. soapy floral aftertaste continues to parch. seemingly full bodied with a very rich mouth feel from the creamy slick carbonation (perhaps the 2+ weeks in the jug?). it never distracts though as the bitterness keep punishing my tongue!
Pours a hazy golden orange with a small white froth. Very fresh aroma of pineapple, resin, light marshmallow, lightly floral, lightly perfumy, pretty green stuff. Sugary pine and resin flavor, lots of grapefruit. Not nearly as sugary as the others in the series. Taste some dirty hop pellets. Sugary medium body with fluffy carbonation. I wish I had rated this one near a computer as my notes are a little vague. JaBier (8396) - Capital City, Ohio, USA - DEC 15, 2008
Sample at Flossmoor Station. Pours a clear amber. Smells of some hop, but not as much as one would expect. Flavor is hop all around. Not a terrible thing, but would like more complexity out of a medium-bodied beer. Sort of grassy. Beerlando (3343) - Orlando, Florida, USA - DEC 15, 2008
Ultra-fresh, red wax bomber. The hazy, orange-amber body is crowned with a large, frothy, cream colored head. Displaying excellent retention, the foam sticks around for ages, leaving thick swaths of honeycomb lacing on the glass. The aroma is on the sweet and malty side for an IPA. Notes of orange marmalade, honey, and rose petals show amidst a toffee malt base, with mild grapefruit and pine hop scents. Flavors are more balanced, the grapefruit and pine bitterness showing a bit more forcefulness. There is a good deal of sweet toasted biscuit coming through, replacing some of the toffee notes that the nose hinted at. Pine resin and peppery notes linger after the finish. Big bodied and balanced on the tongue, the mouthfeel is just a bit too syrupy. Overall, this is a pretty solid IPA, but it is not nearly the best that Flossmoor has to offer. This one will fade quickly, so drink it ASAP. jstraw (1967) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - DEC 12, 2008
Bomber at Jerrys. Hazy, light amber with good, creamy off-white head / Fresh pine, citrus, and caramel nose / Medium body, very creamy, moderately sweet, with smooth, chewy hops, and long, biting finish / Flavors of fresh pine, grapefruit, and orange, with caramel notes / Terrific.

This poured a clear copper in color with a moderate white head. The nose was filled with tropical fruits...mango, pineapple, papaya...followed by florals and pine. The midpalate was medium-bodied rich and smooth. The finish was still rounded but did show a hopppy dry bitterness. sersdf (1020) - chicago, Illinois, USA - NOV 30, 2008
draft at brewery. pretty standard, but pretty solid IPA. crisp and resiny hop aroma. clean and goes down easily. lb4lb (2628) - Austin, Texas, USA - NOV 29, 2008
Bottle in trade from d0b. Thanks!
Pours a hazy rich orange with a whitish head. Smell is very buttery and diacetyl laden with some fruity melon hops. The hops are dwarfed to me by the butteriness of it. Taste is better with nice bitterness and peachy and melon like fruitiness. Tastes better and fresher than it smells. Nice citrus rind like bitterness. Good mouthfeel and good medium to soft carbonation. Nice flavor, but the nose leaves something to be desired. ajm (1072) - Los Angeles, California, USA - NOV 28, 2008
Tap at the Station. What a fantastic IPA. Smooth, balanced with orange, floral, sweet hops and an orangepeel finish. Well-done. I would love to drink what happens when the Cubs win! GeneralGao (3614) - Iowa City, Iowa, USA - NOV 21, 2008
Growler shared by weepster. Thanks. Poured a clear light orange color with a white head. Attractive aromas of lime and orange with less a attractive sweaty note. Medium bodied and slightly sweet with moderate to assertive bitterness. Tasted of orange, toasted bread, sweaty hops, and a hint of butter. Nice.
