On tap at Park Tavern. Pours hazy rich dark brown with light tan head. Aromas of dark malts, toffee, caramel, and some bready notes. This poured a deep chestnut body with reddish tints, topped by a tan head and followed by lots of lace. The aroma was faint, mainly cinnamon with some woody malt. On tap at the brewpub. Pours a cloudy deep amber brown with a light brown head that lasts throughout the beer. Aroma has notes of toffee with earthy grain and a bit of backing spice. Full pour on tap at the brewpub (Flossmoor, IL). Last leg of the Michigan Birthday Run. Pours a rich brownish pour, healthy haze shows just a touch of amber glow at the edhes. A bigger feothy tannish head sits atop, laces well. Aromas are dry floral hops mixing with caramel, toffee, sweeter malts. A touch of toast, mellow bread, biscuits, a touch of fruit. Initial is fuller bodied, offering straight caramel and toffee, biscuits, sweeter malts mix with florals, gentle sweetness, and dry earthy hops. Light spice, faint brown sugar, and gentle floral essence. Middle offers sweetness, rihch caramel, toffee, toast. Sweetness pervades with brown sugar, mellow carmelization. Gentle rich dry hops. Finish is dry and gentle spice. Mellow, a bit hot, still smooth and inviting.
