Clear medium to dark orange amber color with a large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, nutty notes, light brown sugar. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light alcoholic.
An amber beer with a thick orange head. The aroma is sweet with primary notes of straw and caramel, but also light alcoholic notes. The flavor is sweet alcoholic combined with notes of caramel. The mouthfeel is slightly sticky. joergen (28386) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - JAN 6, 2006

Amber colour, small slightly off-white head. Aroma is caramel, fruits, mild grass and some mild toffee. Flavour is quite sweet alcohol with bready maslts and some alcohol.
Absolut gelungener Bock! 11/12/12/13/1/12

Dark amber color, small white head. Very bready and ryeish aroma with some alcohol. Medium to full bodied. Caramelly, but also flavor is very ryeish. Short sweetish finish.
Bottle. Brown color. Malty bready aroma with apple syrup and a hint of licorice. Full bodied. Malty sweet flavor, almost sugary with notes of licorice. Just enough other flavors present to compensate the sweetness. crossovert (13078) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAY 21, 2011
500ml bottle, mindestens haltbar bis: 04.11.11.
It pours with one of the most beautiful heads I have seen on on a beer, it is a tannish color with almost a hint of amber to it The beer is also a beautiful orange/amber/gold. The large carbonation bubbles at the bottom of the glass bring it down to a 4.5.
The smell is super fruity. It definitely has the smell of a port or cognac, alcoholic with dark fruit notes and some nuttiness. It also has a nice caramel malt scent with some leathery notes and a hint of cocoa. Complex for its relatively mild abv for the style.
The flavor is, as expected, fruity and alcoholic. Still with notes of cognac. It has a great deal of sugary burnt caramel, dark fruits, toasted nuts, and some dark bread notes. It is a bit rough on the edges, and a bit sweet, but overall a pretty tasty doppelbock. The mouthfeel is decently thick with an interesting carbonation.
Overall a solid doppelbock, ,ind of unexpected. pivnizub (10662) - Bochum, Porúří, GERMANY - OCT 29, 2009
Bottle:Copper coloured, bigger stable yellowish head; sloid sweet-malty nose, dried fruits and hops from very far behind; solid sweet, slightly bitter flavour, full bodied; sweet malty finish. Decent, but pretty one-dimensional.........
