Sampled at hellbilly’s hellraiser 3 gathering. Bottle courtesy of cbkschubert. Pours an amber brown color with a small head. Aroma is toasted caramel malt, dark fruit and earthy hops. Flavor is much the same, a bit sweet up front with the hoppiness coming through more on the finish. Not bad at all. Thanks Craig! blipp (9929) - La Mesa, California, USA - FEB 22, 2009
Bottle at Cole’s in Buffalo, NY. Pours orange brown with an off white head. Sweet caramel malt in the aroma with a bit of floral hops. The flavor brings a nice malty sweetness, with dried fruit, and a hit of bitter hops in the finish. Well balanced and drinkable. daknole (11048) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - FEB 9, 2009
UPDATED: FEB 10, 2009 Bottle. Cloudy medium brown pour wtih a small whitish head. Some caramel, dark dried fruits, booze, and some good hops as well. Flavor is sweet and frutiy with nice woodsy notes but the beer is well balanced with a nice dose of hops. This is a well crafted beer. spkldhenlvr24 (517) - Newburgh/Buffalo, New York, USA - DEC 16, 2008
12oz. bottle from brewery. Poured a hazy brown body with an orange tint. Small short head. Fruity aroma with a slight alcohol presence. BItter malty flavor with some nice hoppy background. Smooth mouthfeel. Pretty decent beer. Nothing great. WeeHeavySD (3387) - Portland, Oregon, USA - DEC 11, 2008
2006 bottle, a vintage bottle of 3 that ive had for too long from phhd i believe, location makes the most sense to me. Listed as a barleywine. Pours deep amber with a tan head. Nose is sweet muted and decent. Taste is sweet slightly big, but somewhat limited overall. The beer feels like it dies half way through, like it has no back end. There are great qualities here but a number of mediocore ones as well.

12 oz. bottle from the brewery on sale...probably because it was bottled in 2007 - pours thin white head with poor retention, amber color slightly hazy, aroma of butter, caramel and maybe prune, has a medium feel and a big alcohol kick, slightly bitter for my taste Bockyhorsey (2638) - Mesa, Arizona, USA - SEP 13, 2008
12OZ bottle from cbkschubert. Good fruity and caramel nose along with some bread notes. Orange body with decent head. Cirtus orange along with some caramel malts. Thinner barleywine but smooth and easy to drink beer.. Alcohol and dry on the palate. Good brew thanks Craig. MrManning (2009) - Hamilton, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 4, 2008
Bottle courtesy of HogtownHarry, thanks my friend! Pours a hazy brindle from the 12 oz bottle. The head is a rocky, frothy tan cap that lasted over 10 minutes before I could drink the beer. Nice lace with little floaties as well. The nose is c-hops and orange peels, dank basement and woody, earthy, caramel malts with a touch of smoke. Butterscotch and caramel malts upfront with spicy, woody notes, a blast of hops with way more bitterness than expected. This is the way I like a barleywine. The caramel and sweetness is here, but the hops balance and I don’t feel like I am drinking a sugar bomb. This is quite a treat! Thanks for the bottle Harry! Pours amber with a thin white head. Aroma is caramel and biscuit. Flavor is butter, caramel sweetness, touch of hops. Semi sweet with a bit of bitter hop balance. Nice carbonation. wetherel (1899) - Cupertino, California, USA - APR 15, 2008
2007 bottle from puzzl on 3/28/08. Cloudy amber cololr Some autolysis aroma (somehow I like it), and buttery caramelization. Mellow, probably from age. No unpleasant oxidation. Low bitterness. My guess is that 1. I love barleywines and 2. this bottle has aged very well. I’m a fool, but this is awesome. I love it and everyone is else wrong (j.k.).
