12oz bottle: pours a clear deep amber copper with a stringy-lacing white head. Has a lightly sweet toasty caramel and smoked malt aroma with a touch of noble hops. Starts with good fullness and fine carbonation with a pleasant light caramel sweetness and a touch of light fruits and good smoke flavor before a drier bittersweet slightly peppery finish. Pretty true to style, but could use a little more sweetness.
12oz bottle. Pours a cloudy dark amber color with a half finger of creamy off white head. Aroma has sweet caramel malts, slight mesquite note. Taste has sweet caramel malts and breads, mesquite and smokiness throughout with a slight burning sensation to the finish. earthy hops as well that are mild. Medium body and moderate carbonation.

You can’t find too many american beers with this type of flavor. This is a one of a kind beer that reminds me of the Slenkerla German smoked beer. Great smokey flavor with a nice clean crisp finish. This is an excellent beer that would be great with any BBQ as the add states. BeerandBlues2 (14018) - Escondido, California, USA - NOV 21, 2012

Aroma: The nose is a little sweet and a little smokey, with some caramel, meat, and bread
Appearance: It pours a clear caramel-orange color with a small beige head and some light lace
Flavor: Tastes a little more smokey then the nose, it still has quite a bit of sweetness, and a little bitterness
Palate: The body is fairly light for the style, with average carbonation, a tingly feel, and a lightly dry finish
This is a solid beer. I’d recommend it as a "starter" Smoked beer, because the smoke is somewhat subtle and doesn’t overpower everything else the way it does in some beers in the style, but it is still clearly there and recognizable.
12oz bottle. Sweet caramel malty taste - the base of this is like an imperial amber ale with little earthy hops. Smokey taste is even with the imperial amber aroma, it’s not as smokey as I expected or prefer, but it’s definitely noticeable, especially through the finish. It’s more of an even balance between imperial amber flavors and smoke, which is still a pretty awesome combo. Mildly hazy amber orange-ish color, little off-white head and lace. Smooth light carbonation. Clean finish. Medium body. Good light sweet taste, little bitterness. Very interesting and satisfying smoke beer, glad to have had a chance to try this

Clear amber. Aroma is sweet malts, toasty, very faint smoke. Medium, smooth body. Light smoke, a bit of earth notes, some sweet malts. Not really digging this one. craig220 (313) - Crofton, Maryland, USA - AUG 15, 2012
Poured a clear amber color with a two finger beige head. Aroma is woody, smoke, bread, earthy, and roasty. Taste is immediately smokey and then you get a bit of hops bitterness afterward and some floral hops as well. Palate is creamy, light to medium bodied with fizzy carbonation. Pretty tasty! sloth (2957) - Ceciltucky, Co., Maryland, USA - AUG 14, 2012
Medium sized tan head with fair retention and lace. Clear, copper/amber hued brew. Faint nose of caramel malts and smoke. Medium bodied though a bit watery, good carbonation and a light oilyness. Caramel malts and tame smokey notes with notes of chlorine and bacon, lil earthy. Weird somewhat astringent finish, burnt caramel? 12oz bottle from statelineliquors. Appearance: clear light brown with a short, tan, fizzy head that vanished in no time. Aroma: fresh brown bread, cracked black pepper, and (whoa!) some smoke. Taste: smoky caramel malts, with a zing of leafy, citrus hops. Finish: lingering light bitterness with an almost lagery crisp flavor, with a slowly fading smoky note. Notes: Did not realize this was a smoked beer when I bought it or poured it, but it quickly became apparent. It’s a little hoppier than most rachbiers I’ve had, but it was a good and unique take on the style. It’s as if Brooklyn watered down their regular brown ale just a bit, then smoked the malt.
