Pyrmir (6199) - Uppsala, SWEDEN - NOV 9, 2012
355 ml bottle. Aroma powerful with some bitter herb, Tastes bitter as hell itself, awful taste from the herbs. Why?!

RABinCO (1511) - Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA - NOV 8, 2012
Oh what horrors hath man wrought. Pours gold. No head. No lacing. No aroma. No resemblance to an IPA whatsoever. Tastes like a terrible, over spice/herbed pumpkin ale. Taste is grass with a dirt aftertaste. At least Flying Dog is consistent.

Gurthnar (6171) - Bratislava, SLOVAK REPUBLIC - NOV 8, 2012
Bottle from bottle-shop.co.uk
Small yellowish head, instantly disappearing. Lightly hazy orange colour. Aroma pineapple, grapefruit, orange, green apple, grass, overall fruity, fresh and quite tempting. Taste is hard to describe. Initially almost light heavy sour-tart, as if you lick a whole orange. Over time turns into medium bitter, very distant elderberry. The finish is long and literally earthy tart. Overall I think there is orange flavour floating over everything else, along with dirt. As it warms, also elderberry. This is very interesting, pity I can not say enjoyable. I must say this is much closer to IPA than the Brewdog one, but despite that I liked Brewdog better, they are my personal winners of the race :-)

Ok, shouldn’t have bought this - but guess I’m à ticker;) Bottle from SB cons 2012-11-06 Göteborg AR: wee vinos, kriek, rosmarin, grenadine AP: hazy amber, wee fizzy transparent head F: fizzy, rosmarin, thyme, pine, wee sparkling wine with heavy citric bitterness, unpleasent feeling - done the sink!

jolo (1003) - Uppsala, Sweden, SOUTH AFRICA - NOV 5, 2012
Bottle 355ml. A cloudy orange colour with a lot of floaties. Small pieces of something that taste like crisps/french fries. Not likable!

Quack-Duck (9489) - Down South, GERMANY - NOV 4, 2012
bottle from Bierzwerg, tasted next to Brewdog’s International Arms Race. Hazy deep golden colour, tiny head. Spicy aroma. Full-bodied, alcoholic flavours with a lot of malty sweetness, lots of spices present. More like a spiced tripel. Not really convincing. Probably brewing an IPA without hops is like cooking a vegetarian hog roast.

CV8Mate (4) - Alabama, USA - NOV 3, 2012 does not count
Bottle bought at State Line Liquors in Elkton Maryland Aroma- Very strange smell. I think I would call it essence of hippie. I get an aroma of incense and kind of a salty note maybe all little iodine kind of like the smell of table salt. Appearance- Golden Brown with a thin head Taste- I get a sweet honey flavor with notes of ginger and a melody of various other spices Palate- light bodied with a below average carbonation. the finish is salty and slightly astringent. Overall- This is a very interesting experiment and I really wish I picked up the combatant (Brewdog) to do direct comparison. In my next trip to State Line i will have to pick one up and see what there take on a Zero IBU IPA

ekstedt (6944) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - NOV 3, 2012
Bottle (355 ml) from Systembolaget. Clear amber, medium off-white head. Strong bay leave aroma with some other spices. Medium bodied, medium carbonation. Semi dry with light to medium bitterness. What a mess.

larsniclas (7188) - Billdal, SWEDEN - NOV 2, 2012
Bottled from Systembolaget Hazy amber. Almost no head. Very spicy in both aroma; mostly rosemary and flavour; mostly juniper-berries. Still fresh palate despite all the spicies. You can clearly sense orange-peel, juniper-berries and rosemary. OK, even though I’m not a big fan of spicy beers.

Balazs (787) - Den Haag, NETHERLANDS - NOV 2, 2012
0,355 l bottle, Wildeman, Amsterdam Poured amber with a lot of sediment, small creamy offwhite head. Babér and juniper, honey and cinnamon, orange peel. Interesting flavor with honey and malt base, spicies like orange peel, rosmare, juniper. Like a gintonic with herbs. Interesting, but not an IPA.
