(bottle, 35.5cl) Hazy, amber colour with a short and tanned foamy head. Slightly cara-malty aroma, slightly syrupy with ginger and spice-laden notes. Mildly bitter-tart flavour, quite light bodied with a moderate carbonation. Soft cara-malt character with present notes of ginger spices and other spices in combination with a dry mouthfeel; dry and bitter-tart finish with spicy and slightly ethereally notes. Speaking of bitterness and dryness, the US-brew comes closer to an IPA than the Scottish example, which is more balanced on the other side. 22.X.12
Bottle @ home, more than 2,5 years after bb date. Clear copper color. No head. Aroma’s; spices , sweet, fruity, confit. Retronasal the same. Lots of spices, but hard to discover which. Flavor is moderate sweet, spices, sweet fruit. Medium bodied. Still enough carbonation. Not much of an aftertaste. Actually still quite nice, as a dessert beer, but a sample size glass is enough. altonbrownd (5898) - Chevy Chase, Maryland, USA - AUG 28, 2015
Bottle at BeerTemple. Hazy orange body with slight head. Spicy and grassy nose. Taste is hoppy, spicy, funky. Lots of herbs and grains. Sweetens into the finish. Okay. oh6gdx (26482) - Vasa, FINLAND - APR 8, 2015
Bottled (backlog). Hazy orangeish amber colour, small white head. Aroma is citrus, spruce, berries, some sour wood and spices. Flavour is quite similar with a surprisingly watery palate. Stuu666 (13123) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - JAN 28, 2015
Bottle at home. Pours orange amber, light, malt, sweet, piney, some ginger, interesting. Heathen (1500) - Wilmington, Delaware, USA - JUN 19, 2014
THOUGHTS: Very interesting. Not bad either, as a stand alone beer but it was an awful IPA. Smelled a lot like a grapefruit. The flavor was almost like fruit juice. It smelled and tasted like it should’ve been bitter but it wasn’t.
TECHNICAL: Drank 3/2/2013. Bottle. Poured a murky, dark, slightly brownish orange with a small, off-white head that fully diminished and left virtually no lacing. The aroma didn’t have many beer smells. There was light gain and caramel; and odd herbal tea; something very much like grapefruit; sort of fruity; and something artificial. The initial flavor was moderately sweet, lightly acidic and slightly bitter; while the finish was mod sweet and slightly bitter. There was caramel, some odd grapefruit flavor that wasn’t bitter; herbal tea with sweetener, and something artificial. The medium body was fairly oily with fizzy carbonation and an ever-so-slight metallic finish.

På flaska @ Printz. Mörk bärnstensfärgad. Luktar svagt blommigt. Smakar svagt av peppar. En svag eftersmak av beska. Peter_L (1246) - SWEDEN - JUN 17, 2014

Bärnstenstenfärgad vätska med avslaget skum. Pepprig doft. Besk smak med fruktiga inslag och mer peppar. Tråkig.
Memory banks rate - and as I recall, better than the Brewdog version, more ginger, less ’medicinal’. Drinkable, if not entirely fun. Beerhunter111 (20362) - P´Castle, GERMANY - MAY 4, 2014
TEJA (3027) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - MAY 1, 2014
Very shorts beige head. The bottle contains big Flames of debrie that floats around in the glass. Strange aroma of orange-cola soft-drink. Sweet taste and much caramell. Tvist must be One of the sotar beers theese two excellent brewes have made.
