Draught. Rich dark color with tan head. Pleasant taste with mild spice in the end. Will have again. radagast83 (8476) - Arlington, Virginia, USA - FEB 15, 2013
Draft. Poured a pitch black color with a small tan head. Aroma was some light smoke notes, a touch roasted pepper, dark malts. Flavor was mostly roasted malts, but there was a touch of smoke and then a lasting note of subtle spices throughout the beer. I really like spicy things, so it could have probably amped it up just a touch to bring out more peppery notes, but it was still pretty enjoyable. AxlLives (288) - Maryland, USA - FEB 4, 2013
Tap - pours dark black-brown, decent fluffy tan head. Sharp aromas of tangy dark malts, roasted chilis, and dark chocolate. Definite pepper. Taste is more roasted goodness, coffee, bitter, with a hot roasted chipotle finish. Long and strong brother. Good deal. radio_nowhere (1474) - Maryland, USA - FEB 2, 2013
UPDATED: OCT 13, 2013 Draft at AKA Friscos down the road from the FD brewery. 12oz plastic cup, black with tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, some smoke and some pepper notes. Taste adds spices, some chipotle heat and some citrus/earthy hops. The spiciness works well against the roasty stout. Medium body, average carbonation, lingering smoke on the tongue. Interesting complex stout. The chipotle peppers added more background flavor then heat which worked very well. GT (10017) - San Diego, California, USA - JAN 26, 2013
Tap at CK. Clear, deep red highlights on a dark near black pour. Huge tan lace. Hot pepper aroma/chipotle chocolate with mild chemical. Taste is herbal, a good dose of capsaicin heat, dark chocolate, lemon. Long, moderately spicy finish with some dirt and soil. Still very drinkable and still stout in body. Herbal bitterness is odd though. Palate is not so thick with some chalkiness. Pepper heat is not overwhelming.

Draft. Almost black, massive fluffy beige head, solid lacing. Aroma of prppery cocoa powder. The chilis hit quickly in the taste, but they’re adequately balanced by the roastiness. Iphonephan (7283) - Jackson Hole/McLean, Virginia, USA - JAN 21, 2013
On draft at Churchkey DC on innauguration night. Pours black with a tan head. Toasted malt in the nose. Strong chili flavors. Not for the feint of heart. multifaceted (1) - Westminster, Maryland, USA - JAN 15, 2013 does not count
The Chipotle hits the fan on this one! Smokey pepper hits the nose first, then a roasted choco-malt and a spicy after bite on the palate. This is certainly a wild-hair-up-the-*** type of beer, but if you’re too cool for school, then go home because this brew is certainly for the adventurous drinker. Overall, it was more smokey than spicy from what I imagined, but still retains the dark ale makeup that I’d expect from the moniker. Even my picky wife liked it. I’d drink again! snoworsummer (6071) - baltimore, Maryland, USA - JAN 13, 2013
On tap at the brewery. Spicy and delicious. Full of flavor. I would make it my last beer of the day. dbarnold (1127) - Bethesda, Maryland, USA - JAN 6, 2013
Pours black, tan head. Aroma is toasty and a little smoke. It’s full and dark and has just enough pepper to let you know it’s there, but not overpowering. This was fresh, with good hop character, when that fades it will still be a good beer.
