Draft. Almost black, massive fluffy beige head, solid lacing. Aroma of prppery cocoa powder. The chilis hit quickly in the taste, but they’re adequately balanced by the roastiness. Leighton (21075) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - APR 23, 2013
Keg at BrewDog Shoreditch - London. So I am not positive this is the proper entry; beer is written as ’Flying Dog Chipotle Brown Ale 10%’. Pours dark but clear red-brown with a moderate, creamy tan head. Sugary dark malt nose, hints of dark, piney hops. Medium to big sweet flavor, some dark bread, cocoa, faint roast, light bitterness. Medium bodied with average, creamy carbonation. The pepper heat hits in the finish. It is a decent burn but not overpowering. There is a bit more light cocoa, faint burnt pine. The flavor is actually pretty wimpy given the ABV, and the palate is a bit thin. Ao so overall. BeerandBlues2 (13199) - Escondido, California, USA - MAR 16, 2013
Tap at Rustico. Pours clear black with a large, creamy off-white head, long retention with excellent lacing. Aroma is chipotle peppers, pine, resin, and grapefruit hops with roast malt. Flavor is heavy hops and bitterness with supporting malt, dark fruity esters, spicy chipotle peppers and a dry finish. Medium body and carbonation. slowrunner77 (11911) - Reno, Nevada, USA - MAR 5, 2016
Dark and chocolate malts, with light smoke and peppers on the nose. Flavor is a little spicier and is smooth for what this is. They’re up and down, but this was nice. GT (10000) - San Diego, California, USA - JAN 26, 2013
Tap at CK. Clear, deep red highlights on a dark near black pour. Huge tan lace. Hot pepper aroma/chipotle chocolate with mild chemical. Taste is herbal, a good dose of capsaicin heat, dark chocolate, lemon. Long, moderately spicy finish with some dirt and soil. Still very drinkable and still stout in body. Herbal bitterness is odd though. Palate is not so thick with some chalkiness. Pepper heat is not overwhelming.

Draft. Poured a pitch black color with a small tan head. Aroma was some light smoke notes, a touch roasted pepper, dark malts. Flavor was mostly roasted malts, but there was a touch of smoke and then a lasting note of subtle spices throughout the beer. I really like spicy things, so it could have probably amped it up just a touch to bring out more peppery notes, but it was still pretty enjoyable. teorn88 (7671) - Rimini, ITALY - AUG 30, 2013
Keg at BD Shoreditch as "Chipotle Brown Ale 10%". It pours a black colour with a small brown head. Aroma of smoke. Flavor is smoke and a strong and sharp hop bitterness at the end. Heat is there at the end and is subtle, but increases as you drink the beer with just the right amount of spice at the end. Creamy mouthfeel. Good one. On draft at Churchkey DC on innauguration night. Pours black with a tan head. Toasted malt in the nose. Strong chili flavors. Not for the feint of heart. Beerman6686 (6607) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 20, 2013
This one poured a medium brown with a beige head. Aroma was of light chilies, medium roast, and light green herbal hops. Flavor was a nice blend of bitterness between light chili heat, some earthy hops, and medium roast with light choclate in the back to balance it out. Nice stuff. altonbrownd (5898) - Chevy Chase, Maryland, USA - FEB 26, 2016
Bottle from Perfect Pour. Really, golden dark brown body with thin, tan head. Nose is spicy, peppery, really nice. Taste is spicy for sure, some matls and caramel, but spicy peppers and roots overpower the flavor. Would love to try this with a nice Mexican dish.
