Appearance: dark brown, with a short, fizzy light brown head. Aroma: brown sugar, maple syrup, bready malts, raisins, and light booze. Taste: plummy, with notes of fig, toasted brown bread, and scads of maple syrup, caramel, molasses, and brown sugar. Finish: flat, a bit boozy, sweet. Notes: This beer had almost everything needed to make a good dubbel. The flavors were good, and I definitely liked the deeper sweetness imparted by the maple syrup. However, the palate was incredibly flat and bland, and the beer really could have used some good yeasty spice to balance out all that sweetness. Really one dimensional, and a disappointing waste of potential. Draft at Birch & Barley.

Bottle to snifter. Looks nothing like a dubbel. More like watery diarrhea. Smells like a weak Belgian. Tastes forgettable. Unimpressive. boxofrane (2553) - Spring City, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 5, 2012
UPDATED: JUN 6, 2012 Draft at lucky lab. Pours a brown color with light coming through. There its a sticky head of a tan color. Aroma its full of dark fruit. Taste is very sweet and reminds me of red raisins and figs. The mouthfeel is perfect. Really solid offering radio_nowhere (1472) - Maryland, USA - MAY 24, 2012
UPDATED: NOV 16, 2012 Sampled on the brewery tour. Pours a dark redish brown, thin fine head. Aroms of sweet bread, caramel, yeast and malt. Taste was yeasty, some fruit, nuttiness and spices. Not bad, should grab a 750ml bottle if I see one. robgibbens (432) - Gaithersburg, Maryland, USA - MAY 19, 2012
Disobedience pours a dark brown and has a very thin slick foam. The aroma has notes of currant or berry. It’s not an overpowering or even very strong aroma. Flavor is malty, sweet and has those hints of berry. The fruitiness is more apparent as the beer warms. I was expecting a lot more complex flavors here, to be honest, but this is still a well-made nice tasting brew. solidfunk (9363) - Washington D.C., Washington DC, USA - MAY 12, 2012
Thanks to GT2. Smells a bit oaky. Pours with little head, a murky dark colour. Medium to light palate. There’s a bit of sweet caramel and an oaky aftertaste. The overall feeling gives a notion of clashing tastes. Not sure if I’ve just had bad luck with this brewery or what. Big 750 ml bottle.
