Bottle. Good deal of grapefruit and citrus in the nose. Dark brown body with a little amber, hugely thick yellowed-eggshell head. Taste is of rubbery bitterness with a little lychee, Lightly sweet and malty. Hops don’t disappear, but the balance has shifted. Body is somewhat thin. Great opening salvo, but a disappointment once I got down to business.

Bottle: Orange body with a head that had both retention and lacing. Aroma is pretty mild for style. Pine and dough aromas dominate, but also features a super sweet white icing quality as well. Starts out mild and dry with a sweet milky quality that builds all the way to the swallow. Hops are mild for style, but balance the beer very well. I found hints of fresh strawberries at various points, including the finish. I was surprised at this beer, did not expect to like it much, but found it the perfect beer for this afternoon.

UPDATED: APR 5, 2007 Bottle. Pours a light amber with a frothy white head. The nose is very doughy, slightly hoppy, and a bit sweet. The finish is a bit woody, faint sweet malts are noted. Small sour tinges hit my palate. I could use a bit more hops here. It’s fairly lack luster.

Sweetish, cookie nose. Amber color. Light syrupy malt, woody notes with an oaky end. medium body. Nice, but dark for a PA.

Tap...Real dark for the style, not much in the way of aroma. Good taste, although its maltyness leads to some imbalance. Taste is very similiar to hop ottin at times, probably the cascades...There are better pale ales out there.

Soonah (1120) - Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA - MAR 16, 2007
UPDATED: APR 25, 2007 Pour was a nice rich copper color with an almost two-finger white head that lingered. Good lacing. The aroma was mostly hops, not overly floral, more of a lean towards piney hops. The flavor was dominated by hops but there was enough sweetness coming through from the malt to give it some balance. A bit thin in terms of mouthfeel. Probably too much hops and not enough else to consider this for a session beer.

Nice flavor and body. Lots of hops in the palate and the nose. Pours with a foamy white head and looks refreshing and inviting. A good beer that could stand some tweaking, but I’d drink it again..

12 oz Bottle- Pours a clear amber color w/a moderate tan head. Fresh, roasted malt aroma. Heavy, piney, dry hop flavor up front w/a bit of a sharp, almost metalic bite. Kind of "tinny" taste, like an old, bad can of cheap swill. Needed more of a finish, some sweetness, malt, or something on the back end to balance this one out. Very one dementionial, boring. Wasn’t crazy @ this one.
