Poured from a 12 ounce bottle. Aroma was very subtle maybe the beer had been a bit out of date? A light amber color with decent lacing ans a 1/4 inch head. Flavor was a bit dissapointing very bland malt profile with some bland hop finish. Overall I would pass on this next time, the palate was ruined maybe it would be a different story on tap?

Bottle. Pours amber with a fizzy, diminishing head. Grass and citrus aroma. Smooth, watery palate. Hops are apparent and bitter leaving a dry hop finish. A refreshing and satisfactory pale ale.

This ale poured a satisfying copper red with a minimal head. The nose is low on hops but they are there; the malt makes a bit of an appearance with some hints. So far so good. Palate is quiet and thin, not biting like some beers have been lately for me. Its good. The flavour is definitely hoppy and drying. Theres more to it that I am having a hard time picking apart. Could that be the Carastan? Overall, a nice pale ale that I wish I could get my hands on more often.

UPDATED: FEB 17, 2008 Bright reddish-amber color. Not much head, though this could have been due more to the pour than the beer. Malty, soapy aroma. Bitter, hoppy, soapy flavor with a malty, metallic aftertaste. Not my style...didnt like this one much.

Pours copper and clear with a nice head. Aroma is fruity, citrusy and hoppy. Flavor has some nice hops but is too fruity for me. Finish is nice and bitter but it doesnt make up for the overpowering fruit. Not nearly as good as Sierra Nevada, IMO.

Botlle 12 oz
Pours honey brown with smallish fizzy top. 2+
Light, sweet golden brown malt with clean dose of cascade hops.
Medium bodied, slightly oily texture .Acidic front, hoppy middle with vegetable finish. Simple work needs few tweaks.

Rich amber color, with a head that left the scene rather quickly. Tiny lace. Nice, hoppy aroma, but it does not overwhelm that sense like so many other ales Ive had. The flavor can be described about the same way. Malts play a definite role in helping to tame the hops. Mildly bitter aftertaste. Very drinkable beer, and I believe it would compliment a lot of lighter dishes.

Bottle at Box Seat in Hermitage, Tn. Had this with my wife as USC beat up on her Wolverines. It has been awhile since I had this. Pours amber with a faint head. Very agressive and pleasant aroma of cascade hops and caramel malts. The start of this is very solid. Nice balance of pale malts and bitter american hops. The result was a nice caramel malt backbone balanced by a typical american fruity hop bitterness. However, the finish cost this one points. There was a tad amount of soap and vegetable that was slightly distracting. Still, it did not suck, especially for a sports bar beer.

Bottle. Nice hoppy, yet balanced flavor. Nice bitterness. Plus the Ralph Steadman art is great.
