Bottle (12oz). Clear orange-amber with a smallish foamy beige somewhat diminishing head. Typical citrus / light resin sweet hop aroma, with sweet light toasty caramel malt backing, a little floral, whiff of yeast; above average but not by much - pleasing, fades quickly. Taste is also orange/citrus, a litle lemon rind bitterness and not so much malt - has a medium linger and finishes bitter, somewhat harshly so. Average body, not much carbonation after 30 seconds or so, astringent - drinkable, sweet, a little dry and harsh.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Pours amber golden with an ever so slight haze and an off-white head leaving a neat lacework. Lovely citrusy hop aroma. Medium-bodied, lightly caramelish with notes of citrus. Short, dry finish, but not overly bitter. 220406

UPDATED: JUL 30, 2006 12oz bottle. a bit to carbinated. Doesnt have the standard floral or hops nose that some American Pales have. It pours a deep orange and ruby color.

(Oregon Craft Brewfest at The Oregon Garden) A good golden colored pale ale with a nice aroma. This tasted like a good microbrew that was fresh. Liked the hops and aromas this was a clean clear and good easy drinking beer.

Pretty nice balance of hops and malts, but not overly spectacular. However, I give it credit for drinkability.

UPDATED: APR 5, 2007 Re-rate: the last few I have had have been horribly metallic and just bad. I will only take a few points off for now, but if I get another bad one, I will have to take it down further. based on some other ratings it looks like this just isnt as good anymore. I also think it is one of those beers that has to be drank fresh cause it can go downhill fast.

A friend gave me this pale ale. The head was white with lacing. The color was clear copper. The beverage was very inviting. The texture was smooth but the bitterness was thin ,with some citrus. The beer just failed to wow! me. I have had other flying dogs that were much better.

Bottle. Pours deep copper, tiny bit of amber. Very clear. Nice, creamy off-white head. Hangs around a little while, laces nicely. Aroma is of some sweet malts, a little bit of hops, not very strong. Flavor is good and very nicely balanced. Good bitterness with some malts to balance it out. Not a lot of hop flavor, but it was more pronounced as the beer warmed. Palate is light to medium, a little bit of a creamy feel, good amount of carbonation. Good, not great APA. Very drinkable session PA. I like it, but there are others I like better.
