Double Dog Double Pale Ale Back by popular demand, our original "Wild Dog Release" is back, and this time it’s for good. Double Dog Double Pale Ale is a generously hopped ale with a deep red color and pours with a nice frothy head. The abundance of hops will conjure some provocative aromas with hints of raisins and citrus.

Handsome light brown body with a beige head. Rich aroma of over ripened fruit, vanilla, and a little pine. taste is fruity, grassy, resinous, very rich and complex. Nice balance of hop bitterness and sweetness, with a warming alcohol burn. Good stuff

Bottled, 355ml from Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham. Amber with off white head. There are big, resinous, fruity hop notes from the off here, perhaps a touch of cough linctus and apricot, fiery alcohol notes but the sweeter notes overcome this. Mid roasted malts, quite smooth after 6 years of ageing. A big old beer for a Tuesday evenings cooking.

355ml bottle. Pours deep hazy orange. Caramel, orange, pepper, liquorice, grapefruit, very alcoholic finish. Strong bitterness. Big body. Big beer, and not bad.

I love the bold taste from the double ipa and the appearance is tempting with label ;

Better at cellar temp than out of fridge. Best if pulled from fridge & left out 30+ minutes before opening. Bottle lists as DIPA, but it's definitely a strong ale. Aroma is toffee & boozy. Nice mouthfeel, not creamy but not watery. Good strong ale flavor (would make a horrible DIPA), slightly medicinal-tasting. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A lot of high test beers end up having a mad dog 20/20 aftertaste. This is by far the best beer I’ve tasted that’s over 9%. It does not taste like a 11.5% beer until you drink 2. Then you are quickly reminded to dial it back unless you want to find yourself streaking through town on a Sunday night.

Bottle. Pours clear amber with very small frothy whitish head, caramel malt aroma, low carbonation, initially sweet medium bitter caramel malt taste with some citrus flavor, thin body, long caramel bitter finish. Smooth and not too hoppy.

The Pour: Pours a rusty brown-red with a clean-white head. Sawtooth lacing. The Bouquet: Sweet malt, nougaty caramel, brown sugar, and a blast of hops. The Sip: Strong alcohol bite. Deep hoppy bitterness, rounded out by the malt. There is a brown sugar sweetness, that smooths out the hops bitterness. Finish is earthy with some woody oak. Mouth-Feel: Sharp bubbles with moderate carbonation. Medium to Full-bodied. Overall: I would suggest drinking this at just a tad bit colder than room temperature. Anything colder will dull the malt and the hop bitterness will overwhelm the beer. As far as double IPAs go, this is one of my absolute favorites. It’s got a nice balance of malty sweetness to hops, and has an excellent body. The drinkability of this beer is just phenomenal. It’s hard to believe this clocks in at 11.5%.
