Amber in color. Very woodsy, dank , boozy aroma. Taste is about the same but is balanced well with lots of malts to make the 11.5% alcohol smoother. Try drinking 6 of there bad boys... RW80 (2703) - Hoogeveen, NETHERLANDS - SEP 3, 2017
35,5cl Bottle. Appearance: A Medium sized off white head on top of a clear dark orange body, Aroma: Citrus, tanine, honey, herbal hops,resin, wood, toasted malts, solvents. Taste: light sweet, witha big bitterness, especially the finish, citrus,resin, tanine, light toasted malts, herbs, grains, barley. Finish is a big resiny bittereness, with some gentle but stingy alcohol.Aftertaste is a long resin bitterness with some sticky fruit. Low carbo, soft sticky mouthfeel, full body.
IMHO a very well executed American strong ale, and not a double IPA. imdownthepub (15132) - Banbury, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - AUG 16, 2017
Bottled, 355ml from Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham. Amber with off white head. There are big, resinous, fruity hop notes from the off here, perhaps a touch of cough linctus and apricot, fiery alcohol notes but the sweeter notes overcome this. Mid roasted malts, quite smooth after 6 years of ageing. A big old beer for a Tuesday evenings cooking. explosivedog (1506) - Auckland, NEW ZEALAND - AUG 2, 2017
355ml bottle. Pours deep hazy orange. Caramel, orange, pepper, liquorice, grapefruit, very alcoholic finish. Strong bitterness. Big body. Big beer, and not bad. mikethebeast (1) - BROOKLYN, New York, USA - JUN 25, 2017 does not count
I love the bold taste from the double ipa and the appearance is tempting with label ;

Better at cellar temp than out of fridge. Best if pulled from fridge & left out 30+ minutes before opening. Bottle lists as DIPA, but it's definitely a strong ale. Aroma is toffee & boozy. Nice mouthfeel, not creamy but not watery. Good strong ale flavor (would make a horrible DIPA), slightly medicinal-tasting.
