COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Like Hunter S. Thompson...Gonzo Imperial Porter is deep and complex. This turbo charged version of the Road Dog Porter is mysteriously dark with a rich malty body, intense roasted flavors, and a surprisingly unique hop kick. With Gonzo weighing in at 9.2% ABV, it will bite you in the ass if you don’t show it the proper respect. IBU’s: 85

12 ounce bottle- pours out a rich dark brown/black with a large and long lasting coca-cola colored head. Very attractive visually. The aroma is coffee with a metallic under bite. I was very surprised that a brew this dark and aromatic did not fill the mouth like a good stout. Taste was coffee and smoke, very pleasant, but gone too soon. The alcohol content is a surprise. Good to excellent overall.

Bottle, poured pitch black with a thin mocha head. Flavor is pronounce with mocha, coffee & toasted malts. The best beer I’ve sampled from flying dog.

Some hops, a little bit of smoke in the aroma as well. Pours clear bubbly black. Very small tan head. Very interesting taste. Reminds me of smoked salmon for some reason. It’s got good bitterness, but there is a weird taste throwing me off.

Quite tasty thick and rich porter. Bit of molassas, brown sugar, and smoke on the mouth, with a chocolatey body. Very good.

Czarne piwo, nieprzejrzyste. Posmak skórki chleba i paloności.

Poured jet black with a small creamy head. I didn’t find the aroma particularly interesting; there seemed to be very little on the nose. The taste however was completely different. I was knocked out particularly, I think, with a strong suggestion of liqourice and some roasted barley & coffee notes. This certainly had the ’wow’ factor for me and has to be one of the best beers I’ve tasted in a long, long time.
