2005: Pour is thick dark black with a big fast fading tan-ish dark brown head that left some nice lacing...something seems horribly wrong with the nose...every third or fourth whiff, I smell burning plastic...also lots of hops in the nose...some light herbal notes along with coffee...thick out slick oily mouthfeel with some nice rich chocolate and a few other malt flavors up front, fading into a thick hoppy alcoholic finish...very different than most other Baltics Iíve had... bb (9241) - Alamo, California, USA - SEP 22, 2005
Bottle. Dark blackish beer with a red tint and cocoa head. Big chocolate aroma with sweet malt. Roasty, coffee flavor with some chocolate and balanced bitterness. Medium/full bodied. Hides alcohol well. Easy to drink. KAggie97 (3529) - Ugly, Hot, and Humid Spring, Texas, USA - OCT 7, 2005
Tap at Falling Rock. Pours a rich, deep black. Aroma is chocolate and roasted malt. Flavor is a bit chalky, but finishes with a strong chocolate/roasted malt flavor. Palate is thick and flowing. lethe (177) - New York, USA - OCT 22, 2005
Great look after the pour with a nice tan head. Smells and tastes increasingly hoppy which balances exquisitely with the flood of malt undertones. Really donít get many different flavors from it, but very much enjoyed the hop balance of this strong porter. BeerHawk (1810) - Huntsville, Alabama, USA - NOV 16, 2005
Bottle. Pours an ink black color, with a nice creamy tan head that lasted and left wonderful lacing. At the nose, big hop aroma with chocolate and light alcohol. The flavor was a mild chocolate and coffee, but also that unknown bitter hoppy taste found in all Flying Dogs. Medium to full bodied with a creamy texture. Iím not sure of that Flying Dog taste though. Overly hoppy for a Porter especially an "imperial".

Poured dark, with off-white creamy head. Aroma of Chocolate, and roasted malts. Flavor very rich. Hints of Caramel, Vanilla, hops, and coffee. Carbonation good. Mouthfeel creamy. Smooth Finish, Alcohol very well hidden. I didnít realize it was this big intil I looked it up.

Pour is a complete black with a large tan head. Aroma is roasty, smoky and malty. Flavor is coffee and dark chocolate wih a liquid smoke aspect. Finish is very thick and rich and the alcohol is hidden well. Overall this is prob a standard porter and nothing to make it impy except the alcohol. It has it qualities but nothing to put it in the top of it catagory. robinvboyer (4611) - Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 15, 2007
quite interesting. nose is very fruity, and definetly has a roasted malt smell to it. flavour is more of the same. nice bitterness in the finish, reminds me alot of HOTD Adam. nice beer, but not what i was expecting from a porter. jackson220 (136) - new lenox, Illinois, USA - MAR 15, 2007
