COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Like Hunter S. Thompson...Gonzo Imperial Porter is deep and complex. This turbo charged version of the Road Dog Porter is mysteriously dark with a rich malty body, intense roasted flavors, and a surprisingly unique hop kick. With Gonzo weighing in at 9.2% ABV, it will bite you in the ass if you donít show it the proper respect. IBUís: 85

french tickler (649) - Aylmer, Quebec, CANADA - DEC 7, 2008
Shared with Pyrozoid. Pitch black poor with a frothy brown head. Aromas of cedar, chocolate, molasses, roastes hazlenuts, sea salt, dates. Salty, creamy, lactose with a good bitter profile and ok sweetness. Heavy body with slight carbonation. Added flavors of toffee, coffee and a hint of mint. Complexe aromas and flavors... yet for some reason it was lacking a little je ne sais quoi in regards to mouthfeel.

(12 oz btl) Pours a milky black w/ a thick, tan head which diminishes somewhat, but leaves a nice lace behind. Earthy hops combine w/ the rich malt creating an aroma of black strap molasses. Bittersweet chocolate-covered espresso beans is the best way to describe the taste. Thereís a hint of dark fruit in there as well. Finishes smoky w/ a nice hop bite.

Black por with a slight tan head. not a very big aroma. Roated malts and that aabout it........the usual cofffee and roasted malt flavors. This is scary drinkable. I likes all though I am a tad disappointed.

EHopper (620) - Minnesota, USA - MAR 28, 2009
Dark, dark brown with tan head. Straight pine and malt aroma. Seemed a bit thin, but easy drinking with just enough sweet carmel and roasted something to make it interesting.

black with a tan head. nose is roasted coffee, chocolate, roasted malts and a hint of citrus. good thickness with a coffee flavor that is a little bitter yet it smooths out as the roasted malts take over.

12 oz bottle served in a clear pint glass. Poured a dark black with a 1/2 inch layer of off white head. Aroma was roasted malts, coffee, and light chocolate. Taste was much the same. The beer was not overly thick, and actually, just the right body for this particular brew.

Rosebud butternuts (2396) - Denton, Texas, USA - JUN 24, 2009
bottle thanks to swalden28. poured a dark brown with a beige head and nice lacing. aroma of chocolate, coffee, hops, alcohol. flavor is the same as the nose. body is medium-full with high carbnation. all in all maybe on of their best offerings.

On tap into snifter at The Tremont Tap House. Pours a thin dark black with no head but a ring of cappuccino color. Soft roasted sweet coffee aroma and flavor. Smokey finish, booze is definitely present.
