COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Big malty flavors, including licorice and chocolate, are balanced with a moderate hop profile. Brewed with copious amounts of prized malts and flaked oats, the Barley Wine is so strong that it has to be aged for several months before we can bottle it. Like a fine wine, it will continue to improve with age up to 2 years after bottling (If kept cool).

Pours a dark copper with a thin white head. Aroma is caramel, toffee, raisin, and bubblegum. Flavor is sweet caramel, toffee, and raisin. Hides the alcohol very well. Has a thick body, almost syrupy finish. This is good.

12 oz. bottle from Total Wine, Chesapeake, VA (2015 Vintage). Muddy brown pour with a frothy khaki head. Aroma of graham cracker, chocolate, and faint tangerine. Taste is very malt forward with chocolate, star anise, and toffee upfront as notes of wet grass and tangerine peel creep up from the background. Moderate warmth and lingering bitterness. A good English-style barleywine.

Bottle - Light brown colour, large foamy beige head with excellent retention and lacing. Sweet malty aroma with toffee, dried plum, dates, hints of honey and raisins. Taste of dried red fruits, raisins, honey and rich grainy maltiness. Nice fruity hops, decent lingering bitterness. Full body, soft carbonation, thick texture, complex and rich maltiness. Highly recommended american style barley wine.

Enjoyed at an all barley wine tasting at Travis’s house on February 21. This 7 oz bottle was shared by Ryan at the end of the night. The pour is a nice mahogany brown with a light brown lace and no lace to be found. The aroma is pretty good. There is a lot of brown sugar and dark fruits. It has a little caramel and a decent sweetness that starts to dominate, nearing a bit cloying. The flavor is much sweeter than the nose leads on. There is a lot of honey present that I’m not crazy about. The mouth feel is decently thick, with a light carbonation and a cloyingly sweet lingering finish. Decent, but I’m not that big of a fan

Deep ruby with a thick tan head. Big sweet malty, fruity aromas and flavours. Dried fruit, caramel, mild bitterness, slick, oily, boozy. A sipper for sure, but very good.

Clear ruby beer with a thin, brownish head and a strong, fruity aroma. Flavour is fruit, a bit of apple in there I think as well as something lighter and citric to lend it a bit of balance. Rich maltiness to it as well. It tastes its strength and is very much a sipper but it’s rich, hearty and very drinkable.

Very beautiful and (unusual for type) coarse foam at this beautiful deep red barley. Smells of fresh fruit, light malt and very little hops. Tastes of lovely fresh fruit. Raisin, plum and tangerine. An unusually delicious barley that can safely be stored for many years with advantage. The flying dog amazes again ......
