Nice saison/framhouse ipa(?!). Sweet bitterness. Wet straw, yeast and bitterhops. Probably better after a month or two on the shelf so the bitterness calms down a bit

Bitter and sour. Malty, a bit bready notes. Hops present in a greenish kind of way. A really nice combination. As advertised, its like a saison with a good hopping.

12oz bottle. Pour was a cloudy lemony shade with thick, two finger head. Aroma is Belgian yeast, citrus and spice. Tastes yummy! A nice carbonated hop front that attacks the palatte and finishes with a bitter lemony sweetness. Very little lacing and moderate head retention. A refreshing IPA!! Most enjoyable.

bartlebier (3982) - Belchium im Biersgau, GERMANY - MAY 25, 2012
Disappointed by this - expected a hoppy floral take on a Belgian strong ale and got a blonde Belgian Strong Ale with some Citra - which doesn’t hide its alcohol as well as a Duvel (Triple Hop) and apart from bitterness offers not much aroma in return. Drinkable, if only one glass, but certainly not the strongest argument to import Flying Dog US craft beers to . be/.de for.

355ml bottle @ Hilpeä Hauki, Helsinki

BBE 09.02.13 - Pours light clear orange with a small foamy head. Aroma of fruity hops, spices, malts and hints of earthy notes. Taste is malty and spicy with some fruitness, citrus and hints of earthy notes. Finish is slightly bitter and fruity with citrus. Okay, not really a saison but not really an IPA either.

Pours a soft lemon rind yellow with two fingers of frothy white head. Nose is very spicy and zesty. Lots of citrusy character and phenolics/esters from the yeast. Smells like mandarin orange and coriander. Bitterness and astringency from the spices and hops is a bit much. Super dry.

3.6
HonkeyBra (4044) - Lemont, Illinois, USA - MAY 24, 2012
12 oz. bottle. Hazed orange pour with a copious white head. My glass runneth over. Where’s the paper towels? Aroma of belgian yeast, mild funk, lots of citrus and tropical fruits. Flavor is strongly bitter, well-balanced with the fruity esters from the saison yeast. This kind of odd as a hopped-up Saison or a Belgian IPA, but it tastes really great. I guess Citra hops make everything better. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with spritzy carbonation. This beer finishes dry and bitter. This is pretty nice

TheCametron (2480) - CZECH REPUBLIC - MAY 24, 2012
Bottle. Cloudy yellow with a handsome, foamy white head. Aroma is powerful peppery Belgian yeast. Slightly perfumed. A familiar Saison cheesiness. Flavour is majorly yeast driven. Sweet malt to begin with a sourness. Lemony. The bitterness takes over from that leading to a satisfying yeasty finish. A really delicious Saison.

demitriustown (1192) - Sterling Heights, Michigan, USA - MAY 23, 2012
Aroma is yeasty, lightly citrus, and a floral hop characteristic as well. Appearance is a cloudy golden/ orange with a very thick white head that lingers. Taste has got a nice hop note, smooth Beligian notes, yeasty, and a peppery note. Palate has got nice belgian note, and a lightly dry aftertaste. Overall, I like it quite a bit. Cheers!
