12 oz bottle - clean orange-straw-yellow hazy pour, medium lasting tan-white head. Pepper citrus nose following through on the medium bodied palate. Pepper and bittering hoppy finish. Definitely yeasty farmhouse notes. Good, but nothing I’d "crave" again.

Sort of a blend between a saison and an IPA, left it as being a mild IPA with some grassiness to it. I liked it, but left me a little confused. I’m all for hybrids, but they have to have some special taste to them to be notable.

Location/Date:Bottle with Dave, Travis and Ben M-L on February 3rd, 2012.

Appearance:Smells a copper cloud.
Aroma:Smells really like a saison, herby, grassy.
Taste:Light amount of bitterness, some sweetness and spice.
Palate:Medium body.

Summary: An interesting take on an IPA, just not my preference for the style

Bottle. A clear copper pour with a smallish off-white head. A wonderfully yeasty/funky aroma that features plenty of bubblegum, bananas, cloves, lemons, peaches, citrus rinds, candi sugar, coriander, pepper, and some grassiness. Floral. Relatively medium-bodied and kinda creamy on the way down. Some caramel maltiness upfront in the taste along with some peach peels, bubblegum, and hints of ripe bananas. A slightly drying grassy finish with some pineapple, light grapefruit, and plenty of citrus rinds. Nicely spiced throughout.

Bottle. Pours clear amber with an average, frothy white head, medium-long retention with good lacing. Aroma is biscuit, grain and cereal malt, floral, fruity, and citrus hops with light herbal notes, tropical fruity esters and funky/barnyard yeast aromatics. Flavor is bright hops, moderate bitterness, supporting lightly sweet malt, tart citrus and somewhat pithy, farmhouse yeast and a dry, peppery finish. Medium-full body, medium warmth, and moderate carbonation.

On tap at RFD’s in DC. Yellow-gold pour. Aroma is a nice mix of typical saison and ipa. Tastes are the same, but heavier on the saison - citrus hops, pepper, yeast and bubblegum. For my tastes: good saison, ok ipa.

tkrjukoff (4335) - SWEDEN - JAN 23, 2012
Pours a bit cloudy amber with a nice off white head leaving nice lace. Aroma is piny, grapefruit, citric, hoppy, some sweetness, fruity and malty. Very good flavor; citric, piny, bitter, fruity, a bit sweet and some caramel. Finishes longlived bitter and grapefruit.

Aroma is lovely hops, touch of brett and spices. Nice. Flavour is a lovely brett and hops combo, quite bitter and dry, smooth sourness. Great!

UPDATED: APR 8, 2012 Cloudy orange body with bubbly, soapy white head. Flowers, spring, fresh yeast. Fresh alcoholic bits. Starts out balanced, from there on it?s very bitter and dry. Super full of flavors, interesting and well brewed. (On tap at In De Wildman) (Rating re-indexed) 355ml bottle had now as well and it’s not anywhere as good as the original tap version. Less full and a bit artificial. Still good with a nice after taste, but disappointing overall. Score is a mix of both beers.

Archibaldo de la Cruz (1120) - FINLAND - DEC 31, 2011
Draught at De Wildeman. Golden colour with a small white head. Fruity hoppy aroma with peach, lemon, some malt. Peach, lemon, spices, sweetish malt and bitterness in the flavour. Light to medium body, aftertaste is quite dry and bitter. Good, hoppy saison.
