UPDATED: AUG 1, 2012 Bottle courtesy of cgarvieuk. Amber pour, some haze, medium bubbly white head. Big fruity hop nose with just enough Belgian funk to make it a saison. Sort of. Massive juicy hops up-front, high carbonation, fades to an IPA linger with just the tiniest trace of saison/estery flavours on the finish. 3.7......... Bottle at home. Amber pour, massive rocky white head. More funky nose than I remember, dank Citra hop character, but lots of farmyard, varnish, creamy yeast, hint of brett funk. Tangy citrus, orange peel, dry woody notes, herbal, resinous lemony hop character, big pithy grapefruit bitterness. Bigger than I remember, very nice indeed. 3.9

15 June 2011, bottle at my last cgarvieuk tasting! light gold, faintly cloudy, some steady bubbles, thin lacing. nose is a very hopped but funky saison. can’t call it an IPA yet because yeast is so different from normal ale yeast. med body and mildly fizzy. saison is in there somewhere but faintly. bitter astringent lemon rind kind of dominates but interestingly the saison yeast gives an interesting twinge to citra hops. nice.

750ml bottle thanks to Rciesla & Vtafro and their determination to get this bottle opened (it took some time). It pours hazy straw yellow, with a thin fizzy white head and rough carbonation. The nose is sweet honey, honeysuckle, lemon sherbet, sweet orange, pear drops and peach. The taste is honey sweet lemon and orange, grass, hay and pear drop sweets, with a moderately bitter-dry finish. Tastes like an IPA-Belgian tripel cross.

Bottle. [thank you Jos & Cees]
Clear golden pour with a big, frothy, off-white head. Fizzes away rather quickly. Pleasant fresh peach aroma, mildly vinious, some pine, light bretty notes. Red apple and pineapple. Highish carbonation, great light and dry palate. Flavour has lovely peachy hops, some resiny notes, pine, some red apple. Good dryness and mild viniousness. A very nice IPA.

Bottle 750ml. @ the WSF after tasting on the Riding School Hostel.

[ Courtesy of Rciesla & vtafro. Both battled with the bottle for more than half hour without corkscrew and because of a broken cork - but fantastic work - Cheers ;O) ]. Unclear - hazy medium orange colour with a average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, white to off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, caramel, moderate to heavy hoppy, orange - citrus, apricot, oeach, frutiy, moderate yeast, peppery. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20110528]

Pizzeria Paradiso, Georgetown tap ($6): Pours a nice golden color with a lacing leaving white head. Aroma is what you would get if you mix an intense saison with a mild IPA (in fact the taste and everything else is pretty much along those lines). Anyway, the beer is moderately spicy, and that works very well with the spicy hops, giving this beer a pretty unique and clever mouthfeel. Frankly, I like this aplenty.

Draft. Beer poured a golden color with a white head. Aroma was yeast and citrus hop notes, touch of spice. Flavor was grapefruit citrus, yeast, very enjoyable.

Hazy yellow color, medium white head. Aroma is very organic with some citra-notes, citrus, spruce. Very wet and spicy feel; the hops are clear and apparent. Some yeast as well, providing the organic touch. Taste is very fresh with organic hops, also quite fruity. Nice balance between hops and the saison yeast.
