Brewed in the centuries old tradition of German beers, our brewers use more wheat and proprietary yeast to give it the unmistakable character of a flavorful, authentic Hefeweizen. The High proportion of wheat gives In Heat its smooth, full-mouth feel and our special yeast gives it its unique fruity and spicy aroma.

Lame head, but cloudy and murky. A very disappointing wheat that's only 1/3 German, the rest seems American Wheat (very crisp and dry). Light banana/clove flavor, to its credit, but this Dog is tired and has no new tricks. Mild citrus notes, uncomplicated. Depressing.

Sorry but this Dog will not hunt!!! Tinny with very little character to recomend it

GABF '03, hazy golden in color with a small white head. Bana and bready yeast aroma and flavor.

This was way too much like Blue Moon. And that's a bad thing, by the way. The citrus flavor was there (barely), but the aftertaste and everything else about this one really left a lot to be desired.

I was not very impressed by this one. It had the traditional banana and citus flavor. But it was weak and watery.

MilkmanDan (1942) - Eagan, Minnesota, USA - FEB 17, 2004
Light clear gold. Head pours an inch thick evenly across the top of the glass, oddly and perfectly level. Nose is sweet, lots of phenolics, banana, and clove. Flavor is typically wheaty, oversweet banana, clove, and mild yeastiness. Finish is a bit cloying. Not actively bad, just doesn't measure up to lots of better brews.

Flavor is light and bubblegum sweet and finishes with a tang. Not bad. An easy drinking and pretty clean wheat beer overall.

SpringsLicker (3685) - Tennessee, USA - FEB 6, 2004
This was missing something. Typical hazy wheat beer appearance, but lacked the rich head I was expecting. Yeasty aroma, but none of the fruity esters typical of German Hefeweizens. Refreshing but largely unremarkable.

MaxPower (961) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - FEB 1, 2004
Cloudy hazy yellow-orange in color, decent white head that doesn't last long, not much lacing either. Not much aroma some wheat and stale bread, bland lemon and wheat flavors, watery and thin mouthfeel, finishes with some sourness, not much going on with this one.

hershiser2 (3825) - Charlottesville, Virginia, USA - JAN 29, 2004
Slightly hazy golden in color, no head in sight. (Where is it??) Interesting smell... can't quite place it. Banana? Taste... ahh yes, that's banana. How odd. But good! Average mothfeel, maybe a bit more. Wanted more out of this, oh well. Decent once-in-awhile beer.
