A pitch black colored beer, with a dark beige thick foamy head. The aroma of dry coffee, dark malts and some chocolate. The taste is dry bitter, not to strong. Dark roasted malt with dark fruits. The aftertaste has a pleasant dry bitter with notes of sweet.

Basszus ilyen fekete sört még nem láttam! Plusz egy nagyon komoly olajos sűrűség társul a gyönyörű külső mellé. A habja is fenyegetően sötét...

pours a straight, thick black with no head. Good coffee aroma. Strong coffee flavor and finish, but it is strong without being overwhelming. No hint if the almost 9 percent alcohol. Impressive beer.

12 ounce bottle purchased at The Davis Beer Shoppe. The aroma has a ton of anise and licorice character. Some rubbery pool-toy notes are also present. Where’s the coffee? Opaque black body with a smallish tan head that leaves no lacing. Starts a little astringent. Becomes a bit sweet with some cocoa sugariness. Finishes with moderate coffee flavors. Sugary, sweet, and cloying finish.

Draught @ Queens head. Coffee dominated. Not in a bitter way. Notes of chocolate liquor and vanilla. Smooth. Vinous.

A typical coffee stout. Pours dark with a quickly dissipating head. Chocolate and caramel coffee aroma. Slightly watery palate.

Black color with a very brown head. Aroma is coffee and roasted malts and coffee. Oh, there is some chocolate there too. Not bad...

Bottle @ de Paas. Dark opaque colour, aroma of burnt caramel, burnt and roasted malts and dark coffee. Aroma returns in the flavour, having the coffee really present, followed by some burnt caramel. A bit too much burnt flavour for me, but still a very good beer and a decent imperial stout.

Bottle from Best Damn Beer Shop: Created almost no formation of head except for a small O-shaped ring while a blacked out liquid rested below. Aroma is bold with a java mocha coffee smell but there is a decent olfaction of chocolate and dark black malts. The flavor is rich and robust with a slight taste of roast coffee but I’m not sure I’m convinced that this is regular instead of decaf.
