Old rating. Never one of my favorites from them. Fairly malty body, some graininess. Pretty light bodied overall.

Bottle. Deep Amber in colour. Very malty (biscuity malts, caramel). Fruity (citrus). Slight grassy hops. Sweet malty fruity beer. Easy drinking. OK. (2008)

Originally had Jan. 2008 oured from a 12oz. bottle. Appearance: Pours a nice golden brown with a 2-finger head. Smell: Nice malt aroma and some nuts also. Taste: Malty & smooth with a faint bitterness in the aftertaste. Mouthfeel: Citrus-like in the mouthfeel, subdued but balanced, with very mild hops. As it warms, nut-like aspect and a certain wood quality is apparent. Maltiness maintained throughout. Drinkability: Very sessionable, smooth to drink. Though sampled in winter, would make a good summer brew.

Originally rated on 7/22/08. Beer no. 1 out of a 12 pack sampler. Pous a nice deep amber body with lots of carbonation, but a small yellowish head. Aroma was a little nutty, and hints caramel as well. Flavor of roasted malts, nuts and caramel. Decent finish.

I remember drinking this and thinking "Why does this weak ass lager taste like such a hoppy pale ale?" It’s bitter in a way that isn’t enjoyable and it has no fun qualities to make you come back for more.

BOD 250/15. Pours a clear medium amber that is light garnet in intense light. World class head volume, lacing and retention. Somewhat light nose of caramel and earthy hops. Medium body that has a somewhat creamy texture. Superb carbonation with an effervescent burst in the middle and a nice prickly finish. The flavor profile is very good. Reasonably intense, slightly complex and very well balanced. It begins with a slightly charred caramel that is more nutty than sweet. The middle brings a mild earthy hop bitterness and flavor. Underneath is the strongest caramel appearance. The finish is a slow fade of the above coupled with a subtle tart fruit note.
