Rake. Keg. Yet another pretty scarce Flying Dog brew at the Rake. Thanks again fo Rich Dinwoodie and Mike Hill for securing this stuff for us rabid UK drinkers! It’s a clear gold beer with no real head which is something of a surprise as the beer certainly has adequate crispy carbontation. Light thin malt cream. Fresh crispy apple. Whisper of citric hops. Crisp dry finish. A definite cider vibe here but with enough malt and hops to remimd that this is a beer! Tasty!
It was a light ale with a lot of grape and not much else. Slightly acidic. Relatively dry finish. Bleh. Slipstream (2626) - USA - DEC 25, 2013
Lightly sour apple ale, with a nice balance between cider & APA flavors. This odd style isn’t a real favorite, but this was solid. On draft at Good Beer. strongpieman (1651) - Mount Airy, Maryland, USA - DEC 7, 2013
Draft. Golden amber clear with a white head. Aroma is a mild apple but the taste is sweet and apple juice. Not my thing, do not recommend at all. nimbleprop (8382) - SouthWest, Washington, Washington DC, USA - NOV 17, 2013
On tap at the Bier Baron, DC. Pours a clear gold with some thin white head. Nose smells like... apples. Surprised? Some sweetness, a little candy, a hint of lemon. Tastes like... apples. Some lemon, a little yeast, some candy sugar. Sweet finish. Very one note.

11/15/2013. On tap. Pours pale yellow with a white head. Aromas of malt, yeast, light fruit and spice. A little tart, but refreshing and easy to drink. pras (602) - Maryland, USA - NOV 12, 2013
Pale yellow, some lacing. Faint aroma of hard cider. Flavor is slightly bitter, somewhat tannic, with a bit of grain peeking it’s head through. Finishes dry. Apple is hard to detect but when sampled along side the cider made from the same apples, the flavor explodes. This creates an amazing contrast which should be tried. jredmond (8288) - New York, New York, USA - NOV 1, 2013
Draft at Pony Bar HK with Andrew, Ellen and Redi. Pours a pale amber body with thin white lacing. Aroma is spice, vague fruits and some grain. Mouthfeel falls somehwere between dry, carbonated cider and spritzer. Flavors include again grain and vague fruits - not sure if I’d even be able to pick out the apple flavor not knowing it was used. In draft at Beer run in Charlottesville. Pours a clear copper with an off white head. Fruity nose. Flavors of banana and other tropical fruits along with apple cider. Medium bodied. High carbonation. Lingering tart finish. Drake (13739) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - OCT 24, 2013
