on tap @ Party Town / Florence KY --- Aroma of roasted malt and hops. Opaque very dark brown, thick rocky brown head that never leaves, splotches and dots of lace. Taste is chewy pumpernickel malt that has chocolate and earth in the background. Hops appear at the end of the palate, but the swallow brings back the pumpernickel. Excellent brew. Draft to taster. Looks good; a dark cola with foamy light beige lacing. Smells of dark malt, hops, and roast with a bit of pumpernickel spice. Tastes like it smells with an average mouthfeel. A solid take on the style. DrSilverworm (9671) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - MAR 28, 2014
Taster on tap at Party Town. Very dark color. Great thin tan head. Leaves tons of thick, khaki lace. Awesome, bready spot-on pumpernickel flavor. Fresh, moist pumpernickel... Medium to bigger body, lightly chewy. Smooth, lighter carbonation. Light slick in the finish. Good earthy hop, light pine. Light spice. Moderate to bigger bitter taste, light sweet. Taste is more dry. Awesome pumpernickel aftertaste. Fantastic, interesting, creative stuff. thorongil2 (3084) - , Ontario, CANADA - MAR 18, 2014
