Flying Dog Brewery will celebrate its 20th Anniversary a few months early on Friday, September 25th (the brewery turns 20 next year). The brewery will be sampling the new Raging Bitch Belgian-style India Pale Ale at the Flying dog Brats And Gonzo party in Denver that day as part of the Great American Beer Fest happening that week (unscramble the FBAG acronym to get GABF). More info about the fest can be found on the official Flying Dog blog. The beer also appeared on draft at this past weekends Gonzofest party. Al from Hop Talk was in attendance and reported on his blog, I understand its made from an augmented Snake Dog wort with an exclusive Belgian yeast strain (called Diablo) and dry-hopped with a load of Amarillo hops. Theyre calling it a Belgian IPA. It was really good. It had that hop bite from a big, bad American IPA with the banana and bubblegum from the Belgian yeast. Some may remember a beer called, Raging Bitch Birch Beer, that Flying Dog introduced on April 1st. Whereas that low-gravity series beer was a joke, this beer is anything but at 8% ABV (60 IBU). Propaganda from the label: Two inflammatory wordsone wild drink. Nectar imprisoned in a bottle. Let it out. It is cruel to keep a wild animal locked up. Uncap it. Release itstand back! Wallow in its golden glow in a glass beneath a white foaming head. Remember, enjoying a RAGING BITCH, unleashed, untamed, unbridled and in heat is pure GONZO!! It has taken 20 years to get from there to here. Enjoy! Ralph Steadman

12oz bottle. Poured orangish with a short dense off white head. Atoms is belgain spicey yeast with nice citrus. Flavor is very sweet up front like a belgain triple, but the finish is bitter. Not as crisp and hoppy as Id like, but I think the bottle was old. Finish was slightly sticky

330 ml bottle. Pours with a nice hazy orange color and a nice white head. WOnderful nose: Grapes, Grapefruit, some citrussy aroma, hops, nice hops, yeast, some pines, something sweet. Taste of fresh, pine hops, belgian yeast and caramel, some bananas, peach and apricot. Wow, very nice bitter and dry finish. Love it!

Bottle, many times. Along with Troubadour Magma, this must be one of my favourites Belgian IPAs. Superb orange colour, dank and citrusy, grapefruit. It retains the sweetness called for from a belgian, but balances the hops and sweetness perfectly. Very good.

Our first offering from Flying Dog and its a good one. It pours a nice rich amber gold color and the aroma is a yeasty belgiany nose full. The taste is a good balance betwixt the resiny hoppy IPA side and the yeasty caramelly belgo side. It is hop forward with a sweet aftertaste at first, but the more you sip it, the latter takes over, which isnt a bad thing. This is an easy drinker which belies the 8.3% abv so watch out. Good for grubbing on leftover passover matzoh with your cutie as some chicken cooks in the kitchen. A reasonably named beer choice for the face your boo made when she was deceived about the presence of baby goats on campus.

Una IPA equilibrada y con cuerpo, donde destaca entre los afrutados un sabor a caramelo.

UPDATED: MAR 10, 2017 Foams reasonable, nice dark orange color, a sweet fragrance. Its like an IPA must taste bitter but with a nice touch of the grapefruit through it. A good Belgian IPA style beer. Oke but why come this beer than out the USA???
